"Flushed!" is the 19th episode of Season 4 of the new Mickey Mouse (2013) series created by Paul Rudish for the Disney Channel and Disney.com. It's the 77th in the series.

Mickey flushes his seemingly dead pet goldfish, Gubbles, down the drain. Upon discovering the truth, he must find him and get him and himself back home.


Tropes

  • Black Comedy: The wooden skull of Pinocchio is seen inside Monstro.
  • The Cameo: Mickey and Gubbles are swallowed at one point by Monstro.
  • Idiot Ball: Mickey thinking Gubbles has died when really, he was just sleeping.
  • Here We Go Again!: Once Mickey and Gubbles return home, he sees Pluto asleep on the floor and thinks he's now dead, despite the fact he's clearly snoring.
  • Mistaken for Dying: Gubbles decides to take a nap while Mickey is away and when he comes back, he thinks he died.
  • Mythology Gag:
    • The castle Mickey gets for Gubbles' bowl is based on Sleeping Beauty's Castle in Disneyland.
    • When Mickey realizes too late that Gubbles is alive, the image of him resembles his title card from the old theatrical cartoons.
  • Not Now, We're Too Busy Crying Over You: As Mickey is about to flush him, Gubbles wakes up and waves at him. Mickey says "Oh, hi, Gubbles" as he flushes, and realizes too late that the fish is still alive.
  • Toilet Teleportation: After realizing that Gubbles is still alive, Mickey jumps into the toilet and flushes himself after him.
  • Traveling-Pipe Bulge: Mickey gets stuck inside a pipe, and as Gubbles opens the valves one by one, a lump is seen going through the pipe until Mickey comes out the other end.
  • Widow's Weeds: Pluto wears a black veil during Gubbles' funeral.
