"Flipperboobootosis" is one of the season 1 shorts of the new Mickey Mouse (2013) series created by Paul Rudish for the Disney Channel and Disney.com. It's the fifteenth to both air on the Disney Channel and put up on Disney.com.
Mickey and Goofy try to help Donald when he gets a sore on his foot.
Tropes:
- Afraid of Doctors: Donald. Mickey and Goofy attempt to find a fix without a doctor throughout most of the episode to no avail.
- Agony of the Feet: Donald's foot has a massive sore known as flipperboobootosis on it that forms the crux of the short's plot.
- Bears Are Bad News: Mickey and Goofy's first attempt to soothe Donald's foot with honey fails when a bear comes and attacks them. (see also: Brick Joke)
- Brick Joke / Beary Funny / Chekhov's Gunman: At the end, the bear from earlier is seen as Donald's doctor.
- Butt-Monkey: Donald.
- Cranial Eruption: When Goofy attempts to massage Donald's foot, he causes the Flipperboobootosis to pop out of his head. Mickey attempts to correct it, only for the same thing to occur to him.
- Dumbass Has a Point: After seeing Donald's massive sore on his left foot, Goofy tells him that he needed to see a doctor right away.
- "Everybody Laughs" Ending: Mickey, Goofy, and the Doctor does this after Donald realized that the doctor said the sore was delicious.
- Eye Cam: When Donald wakes up at the hospital, this happens.
- Godzilla Threshold: After three failed attempts to help Donald, Mickey and Goofy decide to take Donald to the doctor... unfortunately Donald doesn't want to go.
- Gross-Up Close-Up: Donald's foot in the beginning.
- I Ate WHAT?!: Inverted. The bear that is Donald's doctor tells him that the Flipperboobootosis was delicious, to which a shocked Donald exclaims, "WHAT??"
- Overly Long Gag: Literally; the last gag is Mickey and Goofy rushing Donald's foot to the hospital while Donald tries to run away, with his leg stretching all over the world.
- Rule of Three: Mickey and Goofy make three tries to cure Donald's flipperboobootosis before giving up and deciding to go to the doctor: honey, a foot massage, and reharmonizing Donald's aura.
