- Digital Piracy Is Evil: The main theme of the episode is essentially satire of the absurd lengths companies will go to combat this including the Dethklok corporation patenting a piracy-proof format in the form of recording on water.
- Disproportionate Retribution: The penalty for pirating Dethklok's music is essentially be kidnapped and placed in a black site prison in the dungeons of Mordhaus, mostly as fodder for unethical experimentation.
- Gaia's Lament: "Burn The Earth" is partially this.
- Face on a Milk Carton: Shown among the pictures of children abducted by Dethklok for committing music piracy.
- Toxic, Inc.: The main issue with recording on water is that it uses a lot of natural resources and causes major environmental damage every time they record on it even for something trivial like a mic check. Not that Dethklok cares that much, failing to notice the irony as they perform "Burn The Earth"
- Would Hurt a Child: Disturbingly the vast majority of these unlawfully imprisoned pirates that are subsequently tortured are teenagers and even young children. Because it doesn't matter if you're a grandma or a seven year old girl, Mordhaus will treat you like the evil, hard bitten criminal scum you are.
