Summary
Juru is run so ragged from training that he winds up collapsing, but not before seeing a hallucination that he goes to investigate when he recuperates.
Tropes specific to this episode:
- Crazy-Prepared: The white Kiramei stone that became Mashin Express was intended to be used in the event that Jouki fell under evil control, courtesy of King Oradin.
- Evil Counterpart: Garza unlocks a dark version of Kiramental known as Jamental. Crystallians shouldn’t be able to access it.
- Hyper-Competent Sidekick: Shiguru takes control of the group when Juru collapses.
- Pop-Culture Pun Episode Title: The episode title is a reference to the Japanese movie X-Cross note Ekusukurosu Makyō Densetsu note The Japanese title for this episode is "Ekusupuresu Denkōsekka", which phonetically somewhat rhymes with the movie title.
- Terrible Artist: The final scene shows that outside of Juru (and maybe Sayo), the other Kiramagers all have trouble in the art department. Namely, Sena’s drawing is very simple, Tametomo’s is Off-Model and Shiguru’s is abstract art.
- Vehicular Turnabout: Juru manages to do this via combining Express and Jouki. Downplayed in that Garza still had some control over the latter and vows not to let the Kiramagers use Jouki again.
- Villain Override: Defied by Juru, who simply separates Express and Jouki to force Garza to hit Hot-Cold Dagames.
- What the Hell, Hero?: Fire harshly rebukes everyone for working Juru to exhaustion.
