Go To

At the Brunel National Museum, a robber is surrounded by a mysterious green mist. The group is sent to investigate. They discover that they were up against a genie who wanted to cause chaos all over the world. Java and Diana are rendered helpless by the genie's power. Can Martin stop the genie before it's too late?

General Tropes:

  • And I Must Scream: The Djini clearly didn't like her centuries of imprisonment at the Crystal Skull.
  • Be Careful What You Wish For: And how! The first of the Djini's victims (a petty thief) wished to be the most infamous thief in the world, only for the Djini to disfigure him, so now he's infamously ugly. The curator wished for a unique statue to add to his museum, so the Djini turned him into a statue, making him a one-of-a-kind addition to the museum. When it comes time to garner more victims, she forces the prince to make a wish: to become like his brave ancestors who sealed her away. Sure enough, she makes him part of his late ancestors' tapestry. An entranced Diana wishes to be smarter and is rewarded with a painfully big brain. A hypnotized Java follows suit when he wishes to "fit in", and is turned into a pile of jigsaw puzzle pieces.
  • Demonic Possession: The Djini does this to Martin and co. to force them to state their wishes.
  • Heroic Willpower: When the Djini turns her attention to Martin and forces him to make a wish, he instead wishes to know how to defeat her so he can save his cursed friends. Not long after, the Djini tries to tempt him with the possibility that he's but one wish away from making Jenni his girlfriend. As badly as he wants to win her over, Martin wills himself out of the temptation and makes the wish that seals away the nasty Djini.
  • Hoist by His Own Petard: Martin realizes that the only way to defeat the Djini is by wishing to know how to defeat her, which is to wish her back into the crystal skull and destroy it. At first Martin appears to be succumbing to the Djini's will, but he snaps out of his trance at the right moment to make his wish.
  • Impoverished Patrician: The Prince of Brunei was once wealthy, but had fallen on hard times, forcing him to sell some of his family's relics, including the skull in which the Djini was sealed.
  • Jerkass Genie: The Djini is a vile creature that always twists the wishes she hears.
  • Like Father, Unlike Son: Deconstructed. The prince who was descended from the royal family that sealed away the Djini is painfully aware that he isn't nearly as courageous as his ancestors. It's even to the point that he's insecure enough to resent his ancestors for setting a high bar for heroism.
  • My Brain Is Big: When Diana wishes to be the smartest person on the world, the immediate surge of knowledge enlarges her head to the point she can't think straight.
  • Our Genies Are Different: While the Djini is typical in the way she grants wishes, there doesn't seem to be a limit of how many she can grant, and she's a total Jerkass Genie who delights in the misery of those who suffer from their wishes.
  • Red Herring: While the museum curator was acting suspicious, he had nothing to do with the freeing of the Djini.
  • Secondary Color Nemesis: The Djini's body is green and the skull in which she was sealed is purple.
  • Taken for Granite: The museum curator wished for a one of a kind statue for his museum, so the genie turned him into a statue.
