Recap / Martha Speaks S 1 E 67 Marthas Pack

Go To

In the kitchen, Martha tries to convince Mariella and Danny to give her an allowance, but they point out that pets don't get allowance, and Helen has to earn her allowance by doing chores. She goes into Helen's room and complains about not getting an allowance, then sees her drawing her family tree. Martha is impressed, but is disappointed that pets aren't part of family trees.

Martha then gets curious about her lineage and asks Kazuo who her ancestors were. He shows her an educational video on wolves, which inspires Martha to join the wolf pack at the zoo, along with Skits. The wolves scare Martha and Skits away, so Martha decides to find a pack with dogs instead. Then, she decides that they could make their pack.

She gets Skits, Burt, and Cisco and tries to have them howl like wolves, but they don't do well. She then says it's time to prowl for food, but the three boy dogs want to raid the Lorraines' fridge instead. Martha thinks they don't understand, and decides the four of them must move to the woods.

She then decides that it's time to hunt, so they try to hunt some squirrels, but fail miserably — Skits and Burt are clumsy, Cisco gets chased by stinging insects, and Martha tries to talk two squirrels into letting her and her friends eat them.

That night, the dogs are hungry and the boy dogs want to go home, but Martha wants them to all live in the woods and eat bugs. Cisco hears his owner opening a can of dog food, so he runs home. Then, Martha, Skits, and Burt find a hollow log that Martha wants to use as their "wolf den". However, Burt thinks it's too cold and damp, and when he hears his owner making his bed, he runs home too. Martha and Skits lie in the log, and when she tries to make him move over, the log rolls downhill. Then, Skits realises that it's Wednesday and Courageous Collie Carlo is on. Martha is tempted, but she decides that she'd rather live with her own kind than feel like an outsider, so she sends him home to watch the show alone.

Now alone, Martha sees a duck and decides to have him for dinner. However, when she sees that his left wing is broken, she takes him to the vet instead. The vet bandages the duck's wing, and he talks to Martha, revealing that he wants to be a pet. Martha then brings the duck (whose name is revealed to be Ralph) home and asks the Lorraines if they can keep him until he recovers, and Danny says yes. Martha then reveals that she added the dogs to her family tree.
