Go To

I.e., the lost or Banned Episode from Season 3. The plot has Al and Peg visiting the "Hop-On Inn" and learn that the Rhoades have been secretly filmed having sex and so have they, prompting in the couples suing the motel. Although slated to air in 1989, due to the efforts of Terry Rakolta, the episode was withheld from American broadcasting for over 10 years, finally airing on June 5, 2002 on FX (although it aired as scheduled in foreign markets).

Examples:

  • Characterisation Click Moment: This is the episode where Marcy is firmly established as a female Al. When Al wants to assault the staff at the Hop-On Inn for filming them without their knowledge, Marcy is fully on board and threatens to use a can opener on them in an undisclosed fashion. She even tries to stop Peg and Steve from going the more civil route of suing them. While on stand, her more relatively puritanical nature has been dropped as she apparently wore crotchless panties to court and has been to the motel 40 times.
  • Entitled Bitch: Peg says Al should go to prison if he dares to use his own money on himself. She later threatens to knock Al unconscious if he doesn't have sex with her.
  • Hypocritical Humor: Steve prides himself on being at the top of his game for court, then neglects to rise for the judge which even Al and Peg knew to do.
  • Making Love in All the Wrong Places: Al and Peg end up having sex in the courtroom, right in the path of another video camera. This time they can't sue because they weren't allowed to have sex there.
  • Sexual Karma: Downplayed: Steve and Marcy can be just as unscrupulous and unlikable as Al and Peg, but in comparison to the longer-married couple, they are seen as being more successful and in love. As such, Steve is seen to be a great lover that can go for hours and once the tape finally ends, he's not only given a standing ovation from the jury, but the stenographer slips him her number.
  • Speed Sex: Averted with Steve and Marcie, and then played straight and finally subverted with Al and Peggy. When Steve presents the court with "Exibit-A" he shows the court his and Marcie's secret sex tape, and the camera focuses on the court's wall clock, and after several elapsed hours later, he gets a standing ovation from the court audience, and the stenographer even gives him her number. When he shows the Bundys' sex tape, the wall clock doesn't move at all, implying only a few seconds passed, and Steve stops the tape since he assumes something may have happened, which causes the court to point at Al and erupt in laughter. Once the trial concludes and everyone left the chambers, Al and Peggy sneak behind the judge's bench, the camera focuses on the wall clock, which shows that about two hours passed from the beginning to the end of their session.
  • Unusual Euphemism: When Peg is trying to seduce Al, she at one point quips "Let's coax the mummy out of its crypt".
