Class-based Prologues

    Knight: A Just Heart
This prologue take place back when the Knight class was a squire.

The Knight finds their fellow squire, Lance, collapsed on the floor, unable to move due to being extremely tired from anxiously staying all night. They bring him to Sergeant Rovey, only to be made running 100-laps for helping others when they should be focusing on themselves.

After making the laps, to the Knight's horror, they found out that Lance was being punished too for failing basic training. Not being able to reason with Rovey, the Knight turned to Priest Fredrik to heal Lance. Rovey then gives the Knight a dishonorable discharge for continuing disobeying his order. Before they go, he brings the Knight to the Tournament Hall and to justify his actions and, prove the point that having a just heart isn't enough, challenges them to a dual.

Captain Allon heard the fight and interrupts it halfway. He overrides Rovey's discharge of the Knight and instead promotes them to the proper title; although he agrees that the Knight's righteous heart can be problematic in the battlefield, he points out that this is what a knight should strive to be: to have the will to protect the weak. He also observes that Rovey haven't dominated them despite the battle lasting long, showing that the two are fighting on equal terms. Soon after, the Knight is assigned their first mission...

    Berserker: Path of the Warrior
In a secluded island on the far east called Lien, the Berserker is made running 998 laps around the island for losing to Old Ten the 998th time. Ten's granddaughter, Lilin, finds them sad for insisting to pick a fight they can't win, and suggests working on their anger management. The Berserker refused, but Lilin threatened to tell on the Master and have him not to give them meat for a week.

Lilin starts the lesson by having the Berserker pick up flowers to make a boutique. The Berserker enjoyed it at first, but at the last flower, they got distracted fantasizing over defeating Ten and crushed the flower by mistake. Lilin then tells the Berserker to start over. Enraged that they took that long only have to do it again, the Berserk get filled with rage and destroys the entire field of flowers! Lilin worries that the Berserker won't fit into the outside world, but the Berserker don't care. They believed that they would be the strongest warrior as long as they defeat Ten, since he is one of The Seven Legendary Heroes. Ten then arrives to the scene.

Old Ten asks why they are currently doing so. Lilin explains to her grandfather that she is training the Berserker to rein the god of rage that's sealed inside them. The Berserker, on the other hand, only cares about being the strongest warrior in the world, intending to take that title directly from Ten. Ten then lead them to the red greatsword in front of the training yard, revealing it to be the god's weapon that, by wielding it, can help suppress their sealed rage. Ten then brings the Berserker to the Bamboo Grove to train them proper.

Usually, the Berserker's training consists of them cutting up bamboo, but for this training, Ten calls forth monsters for them to beat. This excites the Berserker as they are new to it. After a few rounds, Ten challenges them to a one-on-one fight. He went full-force to impart the Berserker with the fear of death, believing that they wouldn't value life otherwise. The Berserker seems to be on the winning edge, only to get knocked onto the ground at the last minute. Although Ten was fighting as usually, the Berserker felt an overwhelming aura and realized that he had been holding back. Ten marks this battle as the 999th match. Lilin arrived with a message from Tria. Ten had to leave the island as it involves the Door of Light.

Several days have passed since Ten left for Tria. Lilin worries that Ten had not contact her since. While talking with the Berserker, suddenly, shadowy monsters appears. The Berserker manages to fend them off, but Lilin is shocked to find a cloth ripped from Ten's cape. Lilin begins to believe her grandfather was killed in action, but the Berserker points out that if they could handle the horde of enemies at once, then they couldn't have been able to take Ten out. The Berserker decides to leave Lien, seeking answers to his whereabouts as they are not done with Ten yet.

Meanwhile, at the Door of Light, while Ten was about the leave Lien, The Dark Mage is seen destroying a monument and setting up the Shadow Gate in its place, murmuring to himself how he will save the world.

Just as the Heavy Gunner fixes the overheating issue, their base is invaded by The Resistance. Making up of Claudine, Brighton, and Checky, the group wants the Heavy Gunner's fusion core to fuel their weapon in their anti-magic crusade against Tria. It turns out that the Heavy Gunner used to be friends with the members, only to defect when they realize that they are using science for their selfish ends at the expense of others. Under physical threat, the Heavy Gunner resorts to setting his lab to self-destruct so that The Resistance won't have access to his technology.

Both Aisha and Heavy Gunner manage to escape the explosion. However, the mayor of Edelstein isn't happy about the commotion that causes destruction on the plaza in the process. The Heavy Gunner tries to explain the situation, but to no avail; they have to pay 1.5 billion mesos for public damage and have to leave the place for good. Just then, Ladin, the greatest Alchemist from Taliskar, steps in and offers to pay the fine instead. In return, however, the Heavy Gunner has to hand over the fusion core technology. The exchange cannot be made, as their blueprints were caught in the explosion. Therefore, Ladin commissions the Heavy Gunner to recreate the fusion core, while they have to do odd jobs along the way.

A mysterious knight then appears, revealing herself to be Zenia, a former Royal Knight and the same person who rescued the Knight from the hoodlum and inspired them to follow her path. After talking to her former pupils Allon and Mason, she decides to check up on the Knight.

Seeing the Knight struggling with their guilt and sorrow over Joddy's death, Zenia hands out a larpenshard, a special kind of crystal that is said to grant power those who seek it. Many more have begun appearing around the Maple World some time after the attack on Tria. Zenia also recruits the Knight to train them further.

A few years later, the Knight successfully finished Zenia's training, but little did they know that extra weight has been added to their armor. The Knight initially felt the training the be tougher at first, but they eventually get used to it, possibly due to the effects of the larpenshard. Its power may be more than just a rumor, so Zenia suggests the Knight to join the Frontier Foundation, an organisation that regulates the possession and usage of the shards to prevent them from falling into the wrong hands. Not only can they learn about the shards, the Knight can also test their newfound powers.

    Heavy Gunner Job Rank
After reading her letter, the Heavy Gunner realizes that they have not visited their assistant Aisha for a long time, so they decided to visit her lab. The Heavy Gunner doubts her claim at first, but upon closer inspection, the scales are indeed off the charts!

Aisha wants to sell the shard as a power source, but the Heavy Gunner worries about malicious people such as the suspicious Ladin getting hold of it. They learned it from how it's not how technology can shape the world, but the other way around; as long as there are war-hungry people, even harmless utilities can be twisted for destruction. Aisha suggests a quantum cipher using their DNA as a key to prevent the bad guys from taking the Heavy Gunner's tech, then use said tech to power their own weapon further. The tech backed by the larpanshard will be known as the Peacemaker, create to end all wars. While Laden is away on a business trip, Aisha and the Heavy Gunner spend a few weeks developing their tech.

The Peacemaker is finally well-tested and safely locked. The Heavy Gunner finds a pamphlet advertising heroes all over the world to gather at the Frontier Foundation. The Heavy Gunner decides to go there to investigate further on the larpenshards, but Aisha wants to stay in the lab...mostly because she is paid well. Aisha assures that the Heavy Gunner will always be her boss, and she can keep check on Ladin. Meanwhile, Ladin has always been spying on the two working on the Peacemaker, while communicating with Claudine, one of the Resistance.
