Magnum is the prime suspect when Higgins' friend is murdered after hiring Magnum as a security consultant.
Tropes:
- Black-Tie Infiltration: In his capacity as security consultant, Magnum crashes a high-end art function thrown by Mr Candler, Higgins' friend. The trouble happens when Candler is murdered by an intruder who gained entry using the same method as Magnum, making him a suspect.
- Inside Job: Tracy is an art appraiser hired by Candler, who works with Kristoph and James to steal the art she appraised for him.
- No Honor Among Thieves: Tracy, Kristoph and James steal Candler's artwork and kill him, then James kills Kristoph and tries to kill Tracy to keep the goods for himself.
- Police Are Useless: Averted. Magnum is an obvious suspect and is taken in when an anonymous tip-off leads to a locker under his name with the stolen artwork in it, but they quickly determine he's being set up.
