Go To

"Baby-Fier" is the thirty-fifth episodenote  of Lilo & Stitch: The Series. It first aired on January 12, 2004.

Stitch, Nani, Jumba, Pleakley, and Gantu are turned into babies by an experiment and Lilo must find a way to return them to their rightful ages.

Experiments who appeared or were mentioned in this episode:

  • Babyfier (X-151): This episode's Monster of the Week; a pink koala-like experiment with a big head, purple wings, and a long tail that looks like a toy rattle at the end. He is designed to turn entire populaces into infants by spreading a pink powder from his rattle-like tail.
  • Reuben (X-625): Is forced to take care of Gantu when he gets turned into a baby. Sadly, we never get to see Reuben turned into a baby despite Stitch somehow being affected by Babyfier's powers.

Tropes featured in this episode include:

  • An Aesop: Being the grown-up in charge doesn't mean you get to do whatever you want.
  • Child Prodigy: As a baby, Jumba is able to fix his computer, giving them access to the formula for the antidote to Babyfier's effects. He cites it to being an "evil genius child prodigy".
  • Didn't Think This Through: After hearing Lilo mutter how she wished she was the older sister, Stitch decided to use Babyfier on Nani. Unfortunately, he realized too late that Babyfier wouldn't stop at her...
  • Fountain of Youth: Babyfier's primary function is to de-age people to infants.
  • Inconsistent Spelling: The episode's name is officially spelled with a hyphen, but Experiment 151's name is spelled as an unhyphenated word.
  • Klatchian Coffee: The antidote called for coffee so powerful it wasn't for sale to minors; after Pleakley was turned back to normal, it had such an effect on him that he became very jumpy and claimed to be able to see through lead.
  • Not What It Looks Like: At one point, Lilo and Stitch stop by the local cinema, lamenting that they cannot see the film that Lilo's been wanting to see, only for Mrs. Edmonds waiting in line with Mertle and her posse to call Lilo over. Even though Lilo tells Mrs. Edmonds that she can't watch the film, Nani, who decided to stop by the cinema to see if Lilo was there, arrives and is angered to see her sister seemingly going against her orders to not see the film. Despite Lilo trying to say otherwise, Nani takes Lilo and Stitch home to punish them for the visit.
  • Potty Failure: Pleakley does this a few times as a baby, saying, "I made oops in my pants," the first time he does so—even though he never wears pants and is not seen wearing any as a baby either.
  • Running Gag: As mentioned above, Pleakley as a baby constantly made a stinky. Fortunately, it came in handy when he and Baby Jumba needed to get the coffee dollop for the antidote.
  • Shout-Out: Babyfier's appearance is similar to Mew. They even have the same index number!
  • Stimulant Speedtalk: Baby Jumba creates a cure for the transformation, for which one of the ingredients involves a specific form of coffee bean. He and baby Pleakley get some from the local coffee shop and use them to revert back to normal. However, Pleakley ends up jittering and talking without end due to the caffeine.
