Eliot goes undercover on a hockey team to save the life of a player who's one bad hit away from a fatal injury.
- Foreshadowing: Even before the commentators talk about it, you can see Eliot talking to every player he hits in the final game. The commentators think it's trash talk. Turns out he's letting everyone on the opposing team know that Marko's near death.
- Hidden Depths: Turns out Sophie knows a lot about hockey; not what you'd expect from someone who likes the finer things and maybe sports popular with the English upper crust. She may or may not have stolen the Stanley Cup.
- Made of Iron: Marko's strategy on the ice. "He's like a punching bag that hits back."
- Opposing Sports Team: Subverted when they save Marko's life by having Eliot tell every member of the opposing team that they'd risk his life by hitting him. Play grinds to a halt as everyone on both teams stop and refuse to engage at all rather than put him in danger.
- Tap on the Head: Fully averted. Marko's taken so many blows to the head that he's in danger of dying if he takes another hit.
