Go To

Air date: January 5, 2020 (CAN), July 23, 2019 (USA) note

Destination - İstanbul, Turkey.

"Story of Smoothie": Leo wants to prove to Andy and Carmen that his tortoise Wrinkles has family history in Istanbul's Topkapi Palace.

"Story of Smoothie" contains the following tropes:

  • Cassandra Truth: No one believed Leo when he said that Wrinkles has a connection to a sultan at Topkapi Palace. As it turns out, he was right the whole time.
  • Generation Xerox: Wrinkles looks exactly like his grandfather. The same goes for Serhat and his grandfather.
  • Given Name Reveal: Wrinkles' real name is revealed to be Smoothie.
  • Hidden Depths: It is revealed that Wrinkles has been to Topkapi Palace and his grandfather worked for the Sultan there.
  • Jerkass Ball: Throughout the episode, Carmen and Andy mock the idea that Wrinkles would ever be important and refuse to believe Leo. Luckily, they apologize at the end of the episode.
  • Meaningful Name: Wrinkles was called Smoothie due to his smooth skin.
  • The Reveal: The Circo has already been to Istanbul a few years back, and that is where Leo adopted Wrinkles.

"Andy the Giant": Andy has trouble making a drawing of Hagia Sophia.

"Andy the Giant" contains the following tropes:

  • A Dog Named "Dog": This episode's One-Shot Character is a cat named Kedi, which means 'cat' in Turkish.
  • Are You Sure You Can Drive This Thing?: Luna takes the kids on a miniature train ride. She drives it fast, much to Leo's horror.
Leo: Luna, are you sure you know how to drive this train?!
    Luna: Never mind that!
  • Circling Birdies: Leo gets a halo of circling stars after the speedy train ride.
Leo: Ugh. So much for a little kiddy train ride.
  • Eye Pop: Played with. When Andy looks inside of the mini Hagia Sophia, his eye doesn't pop so much as it cartoonishly stretches to get a good look. It is similar to, but not the same as, Spinel using her eye as a telescope in Steven Universe: The Movie.
  • Forced Perspective: Luna takes the kids to Mini Turkey, a miniaturized version of places in Turkey like the Hagia Sophia that makes one feel like a giant.
  • Literal Metaphor: Andy says his pencil is itching to draw the Hagia Sophia. Cue a close up of said pencil scratching itself "Must...draw...Hagia Sophia!"
