David recruits a new ally while his old friends in Division 3 hunt him.
This episode contains examples of:
- An Arm and a Leg: During the first assassination a Division 3 soldier chops off David's arm with a katana.
- The Bus Came Back: Clark's husband Daniel appears for the first time since the Season 1 finale.
- The Cameo: The British indie-electro band Superorganism appear as drycleaning workers and play their song "Something for Your M.I.N.D."
- In the Back: Syd twice back-shoots David while he's distracted with other opponents.
- Literal Metaphor: Jia-Yi's father is a literally distant parent, only having superficial conversations with his daughter on a console TV a servant wheels in and out.
- Meaningful Rename: Squirrel redubs Jiayi as "Switch" when she arrives at the cult. She sticks with it.
- Non-Indicative Name: One message tells Jia-Yi to "follow the yellow bus." She almost misses it because it's actually a red bus with "yellow bus" stenciled in yellow paint.
- Rule of Three: David asks Switch three times "How are you?" The first two times she answers on the level of, "You know, fine." The third times she gives a more in-depth answer.
- Set Right What Once Went Wrong: Switch's power allows her to do this, which she applies after Division 3 twice kill David.
- Sorry, I'm Gay: "Sorry I'm straight" in this case, as Switch rebuffs Lenny by telling her she likes boys.
- Talking with Signs: The drycleaner who guards the portal to David's base speaks only through Japanese placards that are subtitled into English.
