Recap / Lazy Town S 1 E 16 Dear Diary

Go To

Stephanie writes in her diary all about the citizens of LazyTown, but when Robbie writes mean things for the others to find, all of her friends are badly hurt. Robbie then reads the entry she's written about him—Stephanie feels that he's not a bad person deep down, and a remorseful Robbie gives back the diary and admits to his misdeeds.

This episode contains examples of:

  • An Aesop: Don't always jump to conclusions. If something seems off, make sure you talk about it first before assuming the worst.
  • Clip Show: This is one of four clip show episodes.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: Even someone as rotten as Robbie can't bring himself to do any more evil if someone genuinely says something good about him.
  • Feud Episode: Thanks to Robbie's antics, he is able to turn almost everyone in LazyTown against Stephanie with the latter eventually deciding to return the favor. It took Sportacus to set things straight when he asks everyone if Stephanie even wrote those entries.
  • Not Evil, Just Misunderstood: Stephanie certainly feels this way about Robbie saying in her diary that despite his actions, deep down, he is just a big softy. Robbie Rotten may be one of the best examples of a Card-Carrying Villain, but even he is taken aback when she says something that nice about him.
  • Pet the Dog: Stephanie does this a lot with her friends when she reveals how she truly feels about them, but the bigger one goes to her entry about Robbie Rotten where she reveals she actually thinks he is just a "big softy" despite all of his antics he likes to pull on her and her friends throughout the show. Robbie, in turn, decides to return Stephanie's diary without a fight. Robbie even wonders if she would write about him returning the diary to her. She does.
  • Surprisingly Happy Ending: For an episode that is mainly a Feud Episode and how it tends to end for Robbie Rotten, this episode ends on a high note with even Robbie being part of the group for a short time.
