A Jewish charity's fund-raising dinner cruise is ending when someone opens fire on the dispersing crowd. While the investigation and prosecution of this takes the main stage and includes the Governor interfering in the D.A.'s office, a significant sub-plot involves a character who rarely gets the spotlight.
