Go To

A dead body is found burned inside a furnace used for melting gold. The victim is identified as the factory owner's son-in-law. The clues lead to a prostitution business, Excalibur Exclusivesx run by the victim's brother-in-law. McCoy listens to a wire tap and recognizes the voice of one of the business's clients as that of Gov. Donald Shalvoy, which would make him a witness to the case. McCoy warns Shalvoy that he may end up called to testify about hiring a prostitute, and that he is going to try to deny the Department of Justice's request for those wiretaps. This angers Cutter who feels McCoy jeopardized the case. Cutter ends up subpoenaing Shalvoy, who has his PR firm plant a false story about McCoy and threatens his job. Shalvoy ends up getting his wife Rita involved. She has the killer plead guilty, with the promise of having his sentence commuted later on. The DOJ receive a bribe to drop their investigation, the prostitute is deported back to Brazil and her boyfriend is put into witness protection.
