Green and Cassady look into the death by ricin poisoning of a man named Peter Rostov. Rostov did a lot of travel to and from Russia. Eventually, they link him and his brother Karl to a sex trafficking ring specializing in young Russian women—and to the father of one of those women.

- Sadistic Choice: The father, formerly of the KGB, refused to accept a bribe. Rostov had his two daughters kidnapped and asked which one he wanted returned. He chose to save the daughter who had the lesser chance to survive.
