Lamput has been grabbed by Specs Doc and Skinny Doc so many times that it's given him a fracture. The docs, feeling sorry for him in his condition, decide to be nice to him for once and help him to move around properly again.
"Fracture" contains the following tropes:
- Beat: At the end of the episode, the docs wait a beat before realizing they let Lamput go off free.
- Call-Back: The beginning of the episode features numerous clips from previous episodes where the docs get their hands on Lamput, leading up to the episode's actual plot being triggered when it turns out all those moments took a toll on Lamput and resulted in his fracture.
- Chased Off into the Sunset: The episode ends with the docs chasing Lamput off into the distance after he runs off following his fracture healing.
- Delayed Reaction: It takes the docs a few seconds to realize they let Lamput run off.
- Gasp!: The reaction from the docs once it dawns on them that Lamput's running away.
- Shout-Out: The music that plays as Lamput is working with Specs Doc and Skinny Doc to train himself to move again is clearly supposed to be "Eye of the Tiger" by Survivor.
- Splash of Color: The otherwise all black-and-white montage of clips of earlier episodes at the beginning colors Lamput orange, as well as any objects from the original episodes that were also orange.
- Status Quo Is God: The docs forget their usual mean attitude towards Lamput and give him some help getting back in shape, which is reverted at the end of the episode with them resuming their chase after the blob.
- Training Montage: A good chunk of the episode has Lamput being trained by the docs to get him up and running again from his injury.
