When Michael sinks into depression and starts thinking about leaving the Foundation after nearly being killed during a mission, Devon enlists Stevie to help him regain the will to live.
Tropes:
- 10-Minute Retirement: Michael refuse his hero work for days (possibly weeks) in-universe, but he's dragged back into the game fairly quickly, that is to say, by the end of the episode screen-time wise.
- Achilles in His Tent: Michael has a full-blown case of this for most of the episode.
- And the Adventure Continues: The episode ends with Michael and KITT racing off, his desire to help the innocent restored.
- Bittersweet Ending: The crooks are arrested; but Stevie is dead, and Michael comes close to killing the man responsible.
- Bulletproof Human Shield: The bullet that kills Stevie was intended for Michael.
- Cartwright Curse: Poor Stevie.
- Despair Event Horizon: Losing Stevie nearly pushed Michael over the edge into this; after drifting closer and closer all episode.
- Dying Declaration of Love: Stevie gives one before expiring on the altar.
- He's Back!: Michael's pretty much back to his old self by the end of the episode.
- Roaring Rampage of Revenge: The last act of the episode.
- Series Fauxnale: David Hasselhoff wanted the series to end on this episode. However, because the episode was too dark, it would have been one helluva Downer Ending, so NBC chose to air "Voodoo Knight" as the final episode instead. However, when originally shown in some countries, it was broadcast as the final episode.
- Widowed at the Wedding: The Villain Of The Week crashes the wedding to shoot Michael (whom he thinks can identify him); Stevie throws herself in front of her groom at the last second, Taking the Bullet for him.
