Left amnesiac following a botched mission and an attack at a dam, Michael wakes up in a hospital thinking he's still police officer Michael Long.
Tropes:
- Cassandra Truth: KITT has a hell of a time trying to convince Michael of anything, much less that the two of them are partners who fight crime together.
- Forgot the Call: Michael forgets he works at the Foundation and keeps running away from a talking car that insists they're partners.
- Heroic BSoD: After Michael awakens in the hospital, he spots his reflection in a mirror. Needless to say, finding himself with a new face and no memory of having it done freaks him out considerably.
- Laser-Guided Amnesia: When Michael is injured, he loses all his memories of the past two years and reverts mentally back to the time when he was Michael "Long".
- Oh, Crap!: The expression on Amnesiac!Michael's face when KITT turbo boosts to catch up to him.
- Refusal of the Call: Michael attempts to get away from KITT multiple times, subverted when he finally gives in.
- You Have to Believe Me!: KITT is very patient and does his best to reason with Michael. Unfortunately, it doesn't help that he's a talking car trying to convince an amnesiac man that they're friends.
