Tropes

  • Actually Pretty Funny: After finally finding Kirby, Tuff and Tiff outright wonder if Kirby spent the whole time he was missing doing nothing but eating apples. After Kirby nonverbally admits he did, the two break into laughter.
  • Black-Hole Belly: Discussed. While taking a rest, Tiff, Tuff and Tokkori wonder how many apples Kirby's eaten ever since he disappeared into the forest, leading Tiff to speculate on whether Kirby's stomach is practically a black hole and that he stores what he eats in another dimension. When Tuff asks if she was making a joke, she admits she's not totally sure.
  • Ecocidal Antagonist: This episode shows DeDeDe and Escargoon have absolutely no qualms cutting down an entire forest for their own selfish purposes. While watching him deforest Whispy Wood's forest from afar, Kawasaki outright wonders aloud if he intends to totally destroy all of Popstar's ecology.
  • From a Single Cell: Despite being chopped down by DeDeDe, Whispy Woods is able to completely restore himself using one of his apples containing his life force. He then proceeds to regrow the entire forest that DeDeDe chopped down to make space for his golf course.
  • Green Aesop: An episode against deforestation and development.
  • Let's You and Him Fight: DeDeDe trick Whispy Woods into thinking Kirby's group is out to destroy him so he'll be too exhausted to fight back when the king arrives to chop him down.
  • The Lost Woods: Whispy Wood's forest is considered this. Tokkori remembers Coo giving him a warning that it's easy to get lost because all of the trees look identical. Even the animals that naturally live there get lost easily.
  • Shut Up, Kirk!: When Tiff and Tuff protest his cutting down of the forest to build a golf course club, DeDeDe just orders his Waddle Dee soldiers to keep them at bay at spearpoint for their resistance.
