Everyone Has Standards: While Escargoon could just let Dedede continue to suffer from his toothache, he chooses to drag the king to the dentist. Considering he just has his own tooth treated for the same reason, he has enough empathy to not wish it upon anyone, even his boss.
Morton's Fork: Dedede ends up trapped in three-pronged version of this trope when he gets a tooth cavity: he can refuse to get his tooth treated at the expense of constant pain, Dr. Yabui will drill into his tooth to take care of the cavity, or Escargoon will be constantly pulverizing him with his own hammer to distract him from the toothache. He instead orders a dentist monster to treat his toothache, only to have it accidentally turned into another prong as the monster doesn't use any kind of anesthetic.
Take a Third Option: Rather, it's a forth option. Dedede orders a monster to treat his toothache, but immediately regrets his decision when he learns the monster doesn't use an anesthetic when treating its patients.
