When Chief Bookem (Borun) runs into trouble when he falls asleep while directing traffic, Tuff and his friends launch a crime spree to help the chief keep his job.

- Becoming the Boast: Bookem once falsely claimed he was a war veteran to impress people. When Tuff ends up falling into a volcano, Bookem summons his "Ranger spirit" to help Tuff out.
- Easily Forgiven: In spite of being (justifiably) angry that Chief Bookem inadvertently caused a car wreck from falling asleep, he doesn’t seem to take it personally when compared to Dedede. When the chief needs to take his car in order to rescue Tuff, he’s not furious at him (though he is worried about it being wrecked again). He even admires his bravery for climbing down an active volcano to rescue Tuff, and even wishes that he had the same level of courage.
- Spotting the Thread: Chief Bookem notes that vandals that painted Curio's artifacts (as well as Curio himself) used removeable paint.
