Summary

Having won championships in both single and double tournaments, it is time for Kinnikuman to take his father's place as King of Planet Kinniku. However, the Five Evil Gods fear Kinnikuman's Burning Inner Strength and seek to disrupt his ascension. They find five Kinniku men who were born on the same day as Suguru, and claim that one of these men might have been confused for Suguru and switched during a fire at the hospital. To secure his claim to the throne, Kinnikuman must defeat the "Five Fated Princes" in a survivor tournament for the Kinniku Throne.

This story arc has examples of

  • Crazy-Prepared: Although Terryman and Robin Mask initially declined to enter, Kinnikuman secretly put their names down on his team roster in invisible ink that appeared when exposed to the light, giving them a legal entry into the tournament when they arrive.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: Team Super Phoenix vs Team Big Body; Mammothman destroys all of Big Body's teammates save Cannonballer, who he willingly gets a double-knockout with. Super Phoenix takes Big Body down with the Muscle Revenger.
  • De-power: Mixer Taitei uses his Power Separator Blender to strip Kin of his Burning Inner Strength for most of the arc. Kin gets it back near the end of his match with Kinnikuman Super Phoenix.
  • Freudian Excuse Is No Excuse: Hearing of Kinnikuman Mariposa's Dark and Troubled Past, Robin Mask finds himself unable to attack out of sympathy, until Terryman interjects that Kinnikuman also had it rough, mistaken for a pig and abandoned on Earth, but never turned to evil to survive.
  • He's Back!: Ramenman, who lost his Mongolman mask in the previous arc, returns having been fitted with a special headband that has the same healing properties of the mask.
  • Take This Job and Shove It: Initially, Terryman and Robin Mask are unable to take part in the tournament because their official positions in the Justice Choujin League mean they have to be impartial. Hearing how hard Kinnikuman and Meat are fighting causes them to forsake their titles and join in.
  • Ret-Gone: Super Phoenix learns that if someone's page in the Muscle Book of Prophecies is burned, that person will cease to exist, and uses this to erase both Kin's allies and even his own!
