Recap / Kingdom Hearts I Mission 06100 Acre Wood

Go To

After meeting Merlin, the wizard puts the mysterious book from Cid on a podium. When Sora opens it, he finds himself transported into a new world inside the book. Inside the book he meets a stuffed bear named Winnie the Pooh, who is lamenting the disappearance of his friends. When Sora approaches, he asks himself how he will "say goodbye to Pooh." He says that since his friends are all gone, he must be going away soon as well. Sora follows the bear to his house, where Owl informs him that he will have to find the Torn Pages scattered throughout the worlds to bring his friends back.

Throughout their journey, Sora, Donald, and Goofy find the pages, slowly but surely restoring the book. After finding the first page, Sora finds Pooh hungry for honey as usual, so he goes to the Honey Tree. There he meets the small Piglet, who tries to hide from Sora. The boy sneaks up on Piglet, who is initially frightened, but once he realizes that Sora knows Pooh, he says that he brought a gift for his friend. The gift turns out to be a blue balloon that Pooh can use to fly up the tree and get honey. Some bees try to pop the balloon, but Sora climbs the tree and swats them away with the Keyblade, allowing Pooh to reach the huge collection of honey at the top.

Next, Sora and Pooh find themselves at Rabbit's house, where Pooh is peeking through a hole. A voice inside claims that nobody is home, so Pooh crawls through the hole to find this "Nobody." Inside he finds Rabbit. Pooh asks for honey, but he denies that there is any in the house. Sora sees some honey up in the ceiling, so Rabbit reluctantly gives it to Pooh. He eats the entire thing, which causes him to get stuck in the hole on his way out. Rabbit decides to make some carrot top juice to help Pooh slim down, but then Tigger appears and starts bouncing all over the vegetable garden. Sora stops Tigger from ruining the garden, allowing Rabbit to make the juice and push Pooh out of the hole.

Later, Sora, Pooh, and Piglet find Eeyore floating down a river. Once he returns to the shore, they find his tail is missing. Sora leads Pooh up to the top of a hill to find a high place to look for it. At the top, they find a swing, and Pooh climbs on it. Sora pushes the swing so hard that Pooh goes flying and crashes on top of Eeyore's house, destroying it. Fortunately, though, they discover Eeyore's tail, which had been on the house itself.

After that, Sora heads to a forest, where he finds Tigger and Roo's favorite bouncing spot. He bounces and plays with them for a while, and then he goes to explore the forest, finding some nuts for Owl along the way.

Sora then finds Pooh in a muddy area, looking for his friends. After a long search, he manages to find all of them, and they reunite on top of the hill at night. As they look out at the starry sky, everyone realizes how happy they are to finally be together again. Sora leaves to find Riku and Kairi, and as he does, Pooh reminds him that he can come back whenever he wants. As the book closes, a cover magically appears, showing Sora with Pooh, Tigger, and Piglet...

Tropes:

  • Composite Character: Sora plays the role of Christopher Robin in this world, complete with replacing Christopher Robin on the book's cover.
  • Do Well, But Not Perfect: The goal of the swinging minigame is to destroy Eeyore's house and get his tail. Sora can send Pooh flying as far as he wants, but destroying Eeyore's house takes a certain speed—not too fast, not too slow.
  • Mythology Gag: The new cover of the book is identical to the cover of the Winnie the Pooh books, but with Sora in Christopher Robin's place.
  • Who's on First?: Pooh learns that nobody is home, so he ends up looking for "Nobody".
