Ventus arrives in Disney Town, where he meets the self-proclaimed hero named Captain Justice. He offers to help Ven and encourages him to "vote" for him. He explains that an event called the Dream Festival going on. Ven sees that the three ducks, Huey, Dewey, and Louie are disappointed that their ice cream machine is broken. Captain Justice offers to help, but they reject his offer, referring to him by his real name Pete. Ven manages to fix the machine and make some ice cream for them. They explain that there's a contest for something called the Million Dreams Award, and that Pete is disguising himself as Captain Justice to win the contest. With no sign of Terra, Ven bids farewell to his new friends and continues his search.
The following then occurs if the player has already beaten Terra and Aqua's stories first before Ven's; Aqua is the canon recipient of the Million Dreams Award.
Eventually, it's time for Minnie to announce the Million Dreams Award. She gives out a bag and reveals that the Million Dreams Award for best citizen goes to Terra, Ven, and Aqua. Ven is surprised that Terra and Aqua had already visited, but Pete is furious. Having schemed to win the award, he marches on to the stage to demand the prize from Minnie. But Minnie admits that although Pete did have some votes, he isn't the winner. Minnie then banishes Pete to the Lanes Between, and continues on with the ceremony by awarding Ven with Double Crunch Ice Cream.
Meanwhile, Pete is broken out by Maleficent in return for helping her find the Princesses of Heart...
