Peggy starts making robot sculptures out of discarded propane tanks, which get the attention of a local art dealer. The "pro-bots" sell well, but Peggy is humiliated when she discovers that the dealer had been portraying her as a mentally-challenged mountain girl. Meanwhile, Dale starts wearing a suit of armor and uses his newfound invincibility to insult people without consequences — until Bill challenges Dale to a fight.

Tropes:

  • An Aesop: Even if you can't be "big" in the art industry, it can still be perfectly fulfilling to have your work appreciated by a handful of honest fans. Peggy regains her self-esteem in her work when about five people come up to her when she gets ready to dismantle the original pro-bot and make clear they like her art for what it is.
  • Funny Background Event: While the Hills discuss possible sources for art around their dining table, Dale can be seen outside deliberately walking off his roof in his suit of armor.
  • Improvised Armour: Dale acquires a full-on suit of medieval armour and begins terrorizing the neighborhood. Bill retaliates with a suit of homemade armour, made up of boxing gloves, a trash can and a colander among other things, and engages Dale in combat.
  • Inspirationally Disadvantaged: Invoked by the art dealer, who unknown to Peggy had been using this trope as a marketing gimmick. When Peggy arrives at the exhibition he had organized for her work, he introduces her as an inbred hillbilly and refers to her as "practically illiterate". The show is even titled "I Ain't Got no Learnin'", and the work of someone with an actual intellectual disability (Jimmy Witchard) is shown alongside her "Pro-Bots".
  • Lie Back and Think of England: One of the art pieces Hank observes is called "Close your eyes and think of Freud."
