Recap / Kim Possible S 4 E 6 Mad Dogs and Aliens

Go To

With Ron being on the football team now, he's forced to give up his role as the Middleton Mad Dog—as a result of that, the school has to find a replacement for their mascot. Bonnie's way ahead of everyone there, and reveals to Kim and Ron that she got Kim's brothers, Jim and Tim, to replace Ron as the mascot (presumably because she figured Kim would be bothered by it)—the tweebs are not only sharing the job of being the school mascot, but they're also calling themselves the "Pep Puppies." However, Kim (self-admittedly skeptical of her brothers being the new co-mascots) finds herself to be surprisingly okay with it—in fact, Ron's more bothered than she is and has a hard time accepting Jim and Tim as the new co-mascots.

Meanwhile, Drakken's broken out of prison by a green-skinned woman that shoots green fireballs...though instead of Shego, this turns out to be Warmonga, an intergalactic Amazonian woman searching for the "Great Blue." Realizing the weaponry Warmonga possesses, Drakken quickly claims to be the "Great Blue," making her quickly become his sidekick (and almost hugging him to death).

Shego then returns from vacation, appearing (at least somewhat) jealous at Warmonga having replaced her as Drakken's sidekick. They soon resolve their differences (with their fists) and Drakken reveals his evil master plan to take over the world to Kim. She rushes over to Drakken's place and is surprised at seeing his new alien sidekick. The three women then deal with each other as Drakken panics and looks on. Fortunately, Kim manages to destroy Drakken's new lair and foil his plan, although Warmonga is still at Drakken's side. But Shego, not wanting to let anyone else defeat Kim, saves her from Warmonga and they both vow to deal with each other next time.

In the end, Ron accepts Kim's brothers as the new mascots and even gives them his trademark mouth foam.

This episode provides examples of:

  • Bridal Carry: Warmonga briefly carries an unconscious Shego this way, after throwing her around.
Warmonga: Shall I show her the door?
  • Continuity Nod:
    • When the prison is being broken in, Drakken wonders who's trying to free Shego this time.
    • Warmonga discovers Drakken because she came across his broadcast transmission.
Drakken: Oh that. Ugh, don't remind me.
  • The Dog Bites Back: After Shego is handed a humiliating defeat by Warmonga and is captured and forced to watch Warmonga attack Kim, Drakken bragging about how much better Warmonga is enrages Shego to such a degree that she breaks her own shackles and attacks Warmonga and then reveals Drakken's deception to her, leading to Warmonga tossing him out of his lair.
  • Easily Thwarted Alien Invasion: Warmonga falls for a simple ruse in which one of the Tweebs, wearing a blue mascot outfit, convinces her that he is the real Great Blue and that she should go to Pluto for further instructions.
  • Foil: Between Ron and Shego. Whilst Ron does learn to let go of his jealousy and accept Tim and Jim as the new Mad Dogs, Shego lets her jealousy towards Warmonga get the better of her, to the point where she actively teams up with the heroes to take her out.
  • God Guise: Drakken claims to be the "Great Blue" in order to get Warmonga to serve him. It goes badly for him when the ruse fails.
  • Hoist Hero over Head: Warmonga holds an unconscious Shego (who used to be a hero) above her head.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: During their previous appearances together, Frugal Lucre kept annoying Dr. Drakken. Lucre is now on the receiving end of this thanks to Drakken's cousin Motor Ed.
  • Literal-Minded: Warmonga. For instance, when Drakken tells her to evict Shego from the lair:
Drakken: Warmonga, show her the door.
Warmonga: If you guide your vision to the left of our aft reactor core, you can see our primary entrance.
Drakken: No, Warmonga, I meant make her exit through the door.
Warmonga: Oh. (grabs Shego and lifts her overhead)
Shego: Hey! (Warmonga tosses her through the door, blowing a hole in it)
Drakken: Yes, well... I didn't mean literally through the actual door, but...
  • Nice Job Fixing It, Villain: Because of her The Only One Allowed to Defeat You mindset, Shego ends saving Kim from Warmonga momentarily, thus enabling Kim to foil Drakken's plan and defeat Warmonga, followed by cluing Ron and the others into the idea to get Warmonga to leave Earth. In retrospect, however, this has very negative consequences.
  • Not Me This Time: The initial reports about Drakken getting broken out of prison by a powerful green-skinned woman naturally lead Kim straight to Shego. She has no idea why they're barging in on her at the spa.
Shego: I'm on vacation! And I'm trying to relax!
  • Passing the Torch: Ron ultimately accepts the Tweebs as the new Middleton Mad Dogs mascots and shows his approval by giving them the “mouth foam” he used during his time as the mascot. The Tweebs are actually pretty happy about gaining Ron’s approval and comment the audience have been asking about the mouth foam.
  • Shout-Out: The title is a play on the Noël Coward song (and Joe Cocker album) "Mad Dogs and Englishmen".
  • A Taste of Their Own Medicine: With Drakken having escaped, he's replaced with Motor Ed as Frugal Lucre's cellmate in The Stinger, who proves to be just as annoyingly talkative to Lucre as Lucre was to Drakken.
  • The Only One Allowed to Defeat You: A particularly emphatic example on Shego's part—the possibility that Warmonga might actually destroy Kim instead of her is enough to get her to break free of her shackles and get into the fight.
  • We Will Meet Again: After revealing that she was the one who saved Kim by calling her friends and tipping them off to Warmonga's gullibility, Shego says that she's headed back to the spa for now but will be back to defeat Kim later.
  • Why We Can't Have Nice Things: Said mostly word-for-word by Drakken when Shego blasts Warmonga into a computer.

Waldorf: Do you think there's life in Outer Space?
Statler: There's certainly none on this show.
Both: Doh-ho-ho-ho-ho-ho!
