Recap / Kim Possible S 4 E 10 Fashion Victim

Go To

When Monique is promoted to Assistant Manager at Club Banana, Kim becomes jealous that she gets to see the new clothing designs (as only "managerial staff" can see them). However, that is put on hold when the two have to work together to take on a familiar face. At the same time, Ron discovers that his longtime rival, Mr. Barkin, works at Smarty Mart too, causing the two to butt heads which culminates in them being trapped in a shipping crate.

The episode provides examples of:

  • All for Nothing: After going through all the trouble to reclaim Coco's fall designs only for him to say So Last Season, Kim and Monique are a little put-off. On the other hand, they did manage to take down the fashion underworld, so it's not a total loss at least.
  • Cardboard Prison: Ron lampshades how pretty much everyone should have seen Camille escaping via her shapeshifting as inevitable.
  • Claustrophobia: Mr. Barkin suffers from this while trapped in the crate, causing him to go crazy and don a bizarre ensemble.
  • Code Red: When the Fashion Police see Mr. Barkin in the outfit he was wearing while in the shipping crate, they call a Red Alert and request backup.
  • Contrived Coincidence: Turns out that Smarty Mart's returns warehouse is right next door to the Fashionista's hideout.
  • Eyes Out of Sight: Hoodie always wears her hoodie pulled up over her eyes. How exactly she's able to see well enough through it to fight is never made clear.
  • Foregone Conclusion: Ron admits that was basically inevitable that Camille would use her shapeshifting to sneak out of prison.
  • Know When to Fold 'Em: Professor Dementor immediately releases the Duke he kidnapped upon realizing it's actually costing him more to hold him than the ransom would pay.
  • Literal Metaphor: When Officer Twill tells Officer Tweed 'Cover me', Tweed drapes him with a coat.
  • Loophole Abuse: Kim does everything she can to try and see the new designs that Monique got to see, even going so far as to ask Wade to find any kind of loophole in the contract that prevents Monique from telling Kim about the new designs. Not only does Wade fail to find any, but he finds a clause that would prohibit him from telling even if he had found a loophole.
  • Morphic Resonance: Despite being able to perfectly copy another person's appearance and clothes, when Camille morphs into Kim at the start she clearly retains her skin tone, eye color, and clothes (though this could be only for the audience's benefit, as in-universe she seems to be indistinguishable).
  • Noodle Incident:
    • Apparently, the time Ron cleaned his room was considered 'a dark day'.
    • When Mr. Barkin is mad enough to talk to a rubber chicken, Ron points out he's not the one doing it this time.
  • Police Are Useless: The Fashion Police. As they say:
"We're trained in couture, not combat".
  • Spot the Imposter: If not for Monique, Kim would've been wrongfully arrested instead of Camille.
  • Tempting Fate: Ron refuses to obey Mr. Barkin at Smarty Mart because the latter has no authority over him there. Their next scene is at school, where Mr. Barkin has authority as his teacher.
  • This Is Gonna Suck: Ron kicks a tottering pile of merchandise in frustration:
Ron: "Should not have done that."
  • Time-Passage Beard: Played with. While in the crate, Ron notices that Barkin has a five 'o' clock shadow, prompting him to ask how long they've been in there, to which Barkin replies it was just 12 minutes. Turns out Mr. Barkin has to shave often. By the end of the episode, he looks like Grizzly Adams.
    Ron: How often?
Barkin: About fifteen times a day.
  • Title Drop: While bemoaning his stolen fall designs, Coco Banana says he's a "Fashion Victim".
