Uzu Sanageyama, the Athletic Club president of the Elite Four, decides he wants to take on Ryuko.

- Arrogant Kung-Fu Guy: Initially as Sanageyama thinks he can take Ryuko easily the first time. He nearly does until Ryuko spot the fatal flaw in his Goku uniform to gain the advantage over him.
- Cassandra Truth: When Ryuko demands answers about Aikuro's role against Satsuki, he drops his organization's name: Nudist Beach. Unfortunately, Ryuko sees this reveal as part of another hammy performance and leaves. The teacher insisted that's what their group is called and is disappointed she doesn't believe him.
- Curb-Stomp Battle: The second round between Ryuko and Sanageyama. The latter beats Ryuko like a ragdoll. He's only stopped from finishing her off due to his uniform overheating allowing her to get away.
- Disability Superpower: Sanageyama sews his eyes shut to heighten his senses as he admits relying on his eyes proved his undoing in the first fight against Ryuko. Once he start using his other senses however, nothing Ryuko does in their second fight can even get close to the guy.
- Eye Scream: Downplayed. Sanageyama doesn't do anything to his eyes, but he does sew his eyelids shut to prove to Satsuki he has the resolve to continue serving her.
- Flashback: We see how Sanageyama met Satsuki when he tried to challenge her once she begins taking over local high schools. He lost naturally but was offered to join her side.
- It Only Works Once: In the second round, Ryuko tries the same trick against Sanageyama she used to beat him the first time. But by then he learned from his mistakes.
- Japanese Delinquent: A small flashback shows Sanageyama was one before he met Satsuki.
