Other dub names: Social Butterfly (4Kids)

Dokko has a tea with Barry. He says there was a broadcast on the radio recently, where it was said that we all lived differently before, but we don't remember it. Dokko sent them a letter and they found out that in his previous life he was a butterfly. Now he can't stop thinking about it and constantly feels like a butterfly.

The next day, Dokko makes himself wings out of paper and attaches them to his back, fleeting around the meadows, speaking in a thin voice, sniffing flowers and calling himself a butterfly. Barry sprays the plants against insects and notices Dokko. He talks to him and draws attention to the strange behavior of his friend. Dokko notices his spray machine and runs away. Olga, Wally, and Barry decide to have a serious talk with him. When they come to him and demand him to stop this nonsense, Dokko vehemently denies their accusations, and claims that he just looks like an elk, but he's a butterfly at heart.

In the evening, Dokko goes home, but the door is locked. Barry says from behind the door that this is a house for moose, and butterflies live on trees. Olga sums it up and says that only one drop of nectar a day is enough for butterflies, while she and Barry can eat pies, waffles, and any other delicious food. Hungry and tired, Dokko leaves, ignoring Barry's excuses. He tries to spend the night in a tree, but quickly falls off it.

In the morning, Dokko wanders through the meadow and tries to lick the nectar from the flowers, but it is not delicious at all. His wings were soaked and crumpled. When he gets home, he throws out his wings and pounces on the pies lying on the table. Wally is sitting at the computer. He says he had a dream last night where he was a tiger. He growls and scares Dokko, but assures him not to be afraid since tigers don't eat butterflies.

Tropes:

  • Nature Is Not Nice: Dokko gets a bad taste of unprepared life in wilderness once he finds out the actual flowers taste very badly, he cannot climb up a tree without falling down and even has bad time trying to sleep. The novelization only points out how flat out over his head Dokko was in his butterfly beliefs.
  • Staging an Intervention: After witnessing Dokko's newly found butterfly behavior, Barry, Olga, and Wally confront him and try to snap him out of it.
