Rosa is in a bad mood, and the world around her became gloomy and colorless. Barry, Dokko, Wally, Carlin, and Olga come over to her house and demand that she stop being so sad because the lack of color around only causes many problems for them. Rosa tells them that her mood is beyond her control, and she can't just fix it. Her friends try to cheer her up with circus tricks, but nothing comes out of this venture, and they only get injured.

Rosa's friends gather at Dokko's house to come up with a plan to bring her good mood back. Dokko contacts governments of the Earth and learns that the lack of color has spread beyond their island. An international committee has already been created to get Rosa back to a good mood. They want to make her the princess of the entire galaxy.

Rosa and her friends climb to the top of a long staircase. Olga asks her, after she is presented with the crown of the princess, to try to at least smile. Rosa replies that she can't promise anything. She gets to the podium and tells the inhabitants of the galaxy that she is very grateful to them for deciding to make her the most important princess, but what her incorruptible heart will say, they will now find out. A crown lands on Rosa's head from above. She looks at herself in the mirror and starts smiling, with the world becoming colored again. Suddenly, Rosa hears Wally's voice and wakes up from her dream. Having driven him away, Rosa suddenly sees the whole world turn purple. Dokko is going on vacation, and now, and he doesn't care about science — it's all purple to him.

Tropes:

  • All Just a Dream: The entire episode was a dream Rosa had about becoming a princess of the universe.
  • Brick Joke: At the beginning of the episode, Barry complains that everything has turned gray and he cannot understand what is growing in his garden, mentioning that eggplants for example should be purple. After Dokko makes the whole world purple at the end of the episode, he claims in terror that his garden is full of eggplants.
  • Deliberately Monochrome: The whole world has become monochrome as a reflection of Rosa's bad mood. This has side-effects In-Universe, such as Wally not understanding if he's covered in dirt or blood, Pin mixing up wires of different colors, and traffic lights not working in many capitals the world over.
  • Gainax Ending: In the end, it turns out that all the events of the episode were just a dream Rosa had... except everything suddenly becomes purple. This time, Dokko is the one responsible, and this one was not a dream.
  • Honorary Princess: Rosa is granted the title of princess of the galaxy in an attempt to bring her good mood back. Or at least, that's what she was dreaming about.
  • Monochrome to Color: Most of the episode is Deliberately Monochrome, explained by Rosa having a bad mood. When she starts smiling, the world regains its color.
  • Wire Dilemma: Due to the fact that the whole world has become black-and-white, Pin mixes up the red and blue wires, blowing up something behind the scenes and crashing near Rosa's house.
  • Visual Pun: The world turning purple at the end of the episode, because "whether the science exists or not, it's all purple to [Dokko] now". This is an exact translation from the original version — in Russia, "It's all purple to me" is used as a slang for "I don't care".
