So far, no wizard or witch in Super Sentai uses a gun...until now!
Setchan: Previously on… Zenkaiger!
The animal-loving Gaon joined up, and now there's three Zenkaigers!
Kaito, you need to find the last two, fast!

Just after the mushrooms clear out, ice covers the city! The newly formed trio of Zenkaigers keep on moving along, trying to recruit more members. On their journey, they meet the pink-colored Kikanoid Magine, an introverted fortune-telling nerd who was roped into this frozen world. However, her meek nature causes her to be indifferent to Kaito's offer.

Tropes

  • Call-Back: When the team go to the Tokyo Skytree, the cops immediately assume that Kaito is going to try and bungee-jump from the tower just like the first episode.
  • Dash Attack: The Sentai Gear for Ressha Sentai ToQger allows the group to pull off one of these, linking all of them together behind one another like a train and causing them to plow through the Mooks at blistering speeds.
  • Flashback: Magine recalls back to her childhood in Kikaitopia, when she first met her neighbor Juran.
  • Foreshadowing: Magine's crystal ball conjures up a pair of white glasses that look exactly like Vroon's when Setchan asks her to find the fifth Zenkaiger.
  • In-Universe Factoid Failure: Apparently Kaito has no idea what an Ice Age is. Even Ice Wald doesn’t know what it is, and he’s literally based on it!
  • Long-Lost Relative: Magine is revealed to be Juran's neighbor, whom he hasn't met in a long time since her childhood.
  • Mood Whiplash: The comedic scene where Zenkaiser, ZenkaiJuran and ZenkaiGaon slip on the ice comes not long after we see a driver killed onscreen in an explosion after his van skids on the icy road and collides into another vehicle.
  • Mythology Gag:
    • The newly-formed Zenkaiger quartet do a "Super Sentai" Stance that is reminiscent of the ToQger's pose.
    • When using the ToQger Sentai Gear, Kaito uses Right's "Shuppatsu shinkou!" line just before the "train" consisting of the Zenkaigers takes off. Juran follows up with the ToQ Changer's "please wait behind the white line" when they blitz through the Kudacks.
    • Zenkaiger's third episode introduces the Magiranger-inspired hero to the team. Ten years earlier, the third episode of Gokaiger served as a tribute to Magiranger.
  • Ocular Gushers: Magine sheds these after being reunited with Juran.
  • Running Gag: In an interesting and equally hilarious variation of the past two episodes' gag, Magine ends up accidentally almost shooting herself when she first gets the Geartlinger.
  • Shirtless Scene: Kaito gets one when the boys are in the sauna.
  • Surprisingly Realistic Outcome: Koori Wald debuts by freezing the entire district, roads and all. The Zenkaigers heroically charge in... only to slip and fall due to the ice.
