Jo hopes to conquer her fears and prove she's a leader by challenging the reigning champion of "Fight Hole," the galaxy's top battle arena show.

- Bittersweet Ending: Flo fears that Jo is becoming more and more distant from her following the end of the Fight Hole match. Seeing her fight her own friends and allies just to prove a point doesn't help much. Papa G assures her that Jo will come around sooner or later. On the plus side, Jo feels like she has the confidence needed to prepare for her team's fight against Erodius. Plus, she has herself another Cosmic Stone.
- Brick Joke: Kid turns on the TV and we see a title called Space Bakes, an intergalactic cooking show. We then see the Fight Hole show, where one of the "combatants" was actually trying to attend Space Bakes.
- Curb-Stomp Battle: Both Jo and Krosh are able to eliminate everyone with little effort thanks to their Cosmic Stones before they are the only ones left.
- Everyone Has Standards: Despite the lawlessness of Fight Hole, one of the aliens competing refuses to fight Rosa, since she's four (and a half).
- Exactly What It Says on the Tin: Fight Hole is literally a giant pit where the combatants fight.
- Fighting Your Friend: After discovering Jo is taking part in Fight Hole, the rest of the Local Heroes and their friends try to bring her back. Jo takes Queen Xhan's advice, to not let anyone stand in her way, and fights them without hesitation. Luckily, all she needs to do is warp them out of the game.
- Know When to Fold Them: Tuna predicts his attempt fighting Jo will end badly. Whatever he saw, it was enough for him to forfeit.
- Literal Metaphor: Krosh is said to have won Fight Hole for so long, she never leaves the hole. It turns out that a Champion must stay in there until their defeat. If not for the alien bug staying, Jo would have been the one stuck in there.
- Underdogs Always Win: Jo manages to outsmart and defeat Krosh, though she turns down the title of champion. Instead, a small alien bug somehow Wins by Doing Absolutely Nothing when the chaos finally calms down. Granted, the bug was more interested in taking part in a baking show but ended up here.
- Running Gag: Whenever there's a Title Drop of Fight Hole, the audience or hosts repeat it as if to imitate an echo.
- The Thunderdome: While there are no rules in Fight Hole (with the exception of firearms), the only way to lose is if the combatants are taken out of the hole by any means necessary. The last one standing wins the match.
- Wham Shot: A close-up reveals that the shiny blue eye that Krosh has is actually a Cosmic Stone; one that makes her impervious to pain and can absorb and reflect any attack.
- What the Hell, Hero?: Flo is furious that Jo snuck out to what amounts to a deathmatch. She's especially furious that Queen Xhan had encouraged her to take part.
- Wouldn't Hurt a Child: As stated above, one of the Fight Hole contestants refuses to fight Rosa due to her very young age.
