Episode tropes
- Big Creepy-Crawlies: The Megid eventually starts creating a massive army of giant ants.
- Call-Back: Touma makes one to the First Saber's last words, which Sophia manages to recognize.Touma: Hope exists beyond your resolution.
- The Chosen One: This episode confirms that Touma is indeed Rekka's chosen wielder.
- Comically Missing the Point: The reason Rintaro appeared on a lion? He read that in Japanese culture it is rude to enter a house with your shoes on.
- Calling Your Attacks: Both Touma and Rintaro do this when summoning their attacks.
- Delicious Distraction: Despite Rintaro being a stoic swordsman he apparently has a Sweet Tooth.
- Exactly What I Aimed At: Touma first uses the Jackun-to-Domamenoki Wonder Ride Book's Bullet Seeds on the ground, with Rintaro not realizing at first that he knew it would cause a beanstalk to emerge.
- Shout-Out:
- Mei makes one when she calls a Book Gate an Anywhere Door.
- Touma makes a blatant one when he realizes that the Megid's shtick is based on the fable The Grasshopper and the Ants.
- Kento coming in on a magic carpet at the end of the episode is a blatant one to Aladdin.
Tassel: Looks like Touma has decided to keep fighting alongside Rintaro and the others.
Furthermore, a young man riding on a carpet has appeared!
This reunion will change Touma's destiny in a big way...
