Tropes

  • Bait-and-Switch: At the end of the episode, it seems like the Igarashis are scolding Genta for almost sacrificing his life to complete the Giffard Rex Vistamp. Instead, they cut off his apology and explain that what they really want is for him to stop trying act like his old Junpei Shiranami self, well aware that he was only pretending to do so and getting way too embarrassed to even be around him.
  • Call-Back:
    • Hiromi mentions working with Tatsuhiko from #19-20 to evacuate the Fenix rehab patients before the Fenix Skybase crashed in #35.
    • Hiromi mentions to Daiji that since he had no inner demon (being used to create the Rex Deadman all the way back in #1), he understands exactly what it means to go overboard in trying to be a hero.
  • Closest Thing We Got: Since the mission to rescue Akemi and retrieve her Giff cells was a failure, Genta decides to volunteer the Giff cells in his heart instead, even if the procedure to extract them would kill him.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: Ultimate Revi and Vice deliver a glorious one to the Giff Junior horde and the Hell Gifftarian.
  • Deadly Upgrade: A variation where the person dying isn't the one receiving the upgrade. Genta offers up the Giff cells in his body to help complete the Giffard Rex Vistamp, despite the very strong possibility that he won't survive the procedure. He lives, but his heart is left much weaker as a result.
  • Double-Meaning Title: The title refers to both the fact that the Karizakis collaborate to create the Giffard Rex Vistamp, as well as the fact that Genta uses his Giff cells to help create his son's Final Form.
  • He's Back!: Subverted. After several episodes reverting to a serious and somber personality after recovering his memories as Junpei, Genta goes back to his Bumbling Dad self while he's attempting to apologize for almost letting himself die. However, he's forced to admit that he was just trying to act more "Junpei-like" to keep up the flow of things, and his family had all seen through it pretty much instantly.
  • Me's a Crowd: Both Ultimate Revi and Vice can use their Giffard Rex Vistamps to create copies of themselves in much the same way that Giff Juniors are born. The key differences are that every copy naturally has their own Vistamps, letting them rapidly propagate even further, and they are much more powerful than the Giff Juniors.
  • Oh, Crap!: Ikki realizes his dad's surgery is going south when Vail suddenly starts weakening during their fight.
  • Video Wills: Knowing he likely won't survive the extraction of his Giff cells, Genta has Irabu help him film a brief final message to his family before he goes under.
  • Worst Aid: Genta’s operation violates so many health and safety procedures for surgery it’s not even funny. Allowing Buu in with a camera is merely the tip of the iceberg.
