Kamen Rider Revice Movie Spin-Off Delivered Drama: Birth of Chimera is an interquel of Kamen Rider Revice, which explores the origins of Battle Familia's movie-exclusive Riders, Chimera and Daimon.

Nozomu Otani is friends with Ryu Mukai, a person who aspires to be a hero. One day, he would receive that wish when he inherits the Chimera Driver, allowing him to transform into Kamen Rider Chimera. However, this event would lead to a chain of tragedies that would lead to Nozomu taking up the mantle of Chimera in his friend's stead...

Tropes:

  • Chekhov's Gun: Early into the special, Mr. Otani mentions that Dr. Sotoumi has been working him real hard recently as though he had changed personalities. We later learn that this is because Dr. Sotoumi has been under Chic's influence.
  • Demonic Possession: When Chic decided that Dr. Sotoumi was no longer necessary, he stabbed Dr. Sotoumi and stole the poor doctor's body for himself.
  • Downer Ending: Ryu mutates into a demon from the Chimera Driver's side-effects, and Daimon finishes him off, resulting in him exploding and Nozomu's parents having to shield him from the explosion, dying in the process, leaving a broken Nozomu to swear vengeance against Daimon. The only saving grace is that he takes up the mantle of Chimera to battle against him in Battle Familia.
  • Mythology Gag: When George Karizaki attempts to transform into Kamen Rider Chimera, he briefly imitates Takeshi Hongo's transformation pose.
  • Origins Episode: For Kamen Riders Chimera and Daimon.
  • Prequel: This special takes place before Battle Familia.
  • "Ray of Hope" Ending: Once he sees that Azuma is stalking a family, Nozomu goes after Azuma with the intent to make sure they don't suffer the same fate as his family did.
  • The Reveal: Chic is the inner demon of Masumi Karizaki.
  • Rule of Three: Ryu gets to transform into Chimera three times in this special, and it's on his third attempt that he loses his Driver to Azuma before turning into a demon.
  • Surprisingly Realistic Outcome: Birth of Chimera shows what really happens during the explosion that accompanies a Monster of the Week's defeat.
