I'm aware that some people just can't get off their phones, but this is just ridiculous!
Sento: In the city of Touto, home to the brilliant physicist Kiryu Sento, mysterious monsters called Smash are attacking the citizens. It's then that our hero, Kamen Rider appears!
Ryuuga: Brilliant? Hero? You dork, you're just some old man with amnesia!
Sento: Shut it! This here is Banjou Ryuuga, escaped convict and murderer.
Ryuuga: I ain't none of those things!
Sento: In my infinite kindness, I took pity on his crying and begging, and turned into a public enemy of Touto to help him escape. And now, Episode 2-
Ryuuga: I wasn't crying!
Sento: You took too long.

Sento and co. ask Banjou about his involvement with the scientist's murder one year ago - the one he was imprisoned for. However, the ex-pro fighter escapes their hideout after he learns that his girlfriend Kasumi was abducted, just like him and Sento. Sento goes after him, but finding her won't be easy, because after helping Banjou escape, Kamen Rider Build became a criminal, wanted by the government of Touto. Moreover, it turns out it was Kasumi herself that sent Ryuuga to the victim's room on that fateful day...

  • But for Me, It Was Tuesday: When Build confronts Night Rogue about his past, Rogue comments that no one could possibly expect him to remember every single guinea pig.
  • Breaking the Fourth Wall: When Ryuuga goes way too far back with his backstory (starting from his birth), a frustrated Sento grabs the image of toddler Banjou and throws it away, much to Souichi's and Ryuuga's surprise.
  • Died in Your Arms Tonight: Kasumi dies in Banjou's arms after Build defeats her as Burn Smash. He manages to keep her alive long enough for them to exchange last words.
  • False Flag Operation: Touto falsifies a report on a Smash attack to capture Build, but he manages to escape.
  • Get A Hold Of Yourself Man: Sento shakes some sense into Ryuuga after the latter hits the Despair Event Horizon.
  • Going by the Matchbook: This is one part of how Sawa managed to find out Nascita was also Build's hideout - he dropped a matchbook with the cafe's name after defeating Needle Smash in the last episode. The second part was Souichi leaving the refrigerator/hidden door open. Both instances earn a What the Hell, Hero?.
  • Handy Feet: With his hands tied, Banjou used his feet to grab the blackboard from Misora. When she's in the purification machine, he used his feet again to grab her dropped phone and make a call.
  • Mercy Kill: Sento tells Ryuuga that allowing Kasumi to die by extracting her Smash essence is a much more merciful fate than letting her continue her rampage as a mindless Smash. After seeing the pain she was in while in her monster form, Ryuuga reluctantly agrees.
  • Moment Killer:
    • Ryuuga's tragic meeting with Kasumi-turned-Smash turns into a bit of unintentional Black Comedy, because his shirt says "You look better on social media".
    • Banjou has a heart-to-heart talk to Sento, thanking him for helping him and allowing Kasumi to die as herself... Only to realize that Sento didn't hear anything, as he was dozing off.
  • Oh, Crap!: Banjou and Build's reaction to the Guardians combining.
  • Seesaw Catapult: Build uses an ingenious one to defeat the Guardian mecha.
  • Tragic Keepsake: Sento gives Ryuuga the Dragon Fullbottle made from Kasumi’s purified essence as a reminder of her.
  • Wham Shot: Souichi demonstrating that he isn't a normal human, by squeezing a tablet into a backscratcher in a matter of seconds.
