And the Adventure Continues: Season 1 ends with the NPS continuing to be on active duty, minus Mamoru and Haruka, in hunting down violent Amazons that have survived Operation Tlaloc.
Break the Cutie: Mamoru gets his worst one in the whole series after having eaten Misaki's left arm and crying his eyes out. Haruka tries to convince him that thinking about eating someone was okay, but fails. Haruka instead convinces him to live outside human contact to avoid realizing his fears of actually eating someone.
Bittersweet Ending: Operation Tlaloc is a success and kills over three-quarters of the remaining Amazons, the vast majority of whom had yet to do anything wrong. Haruka and Mamoru survive, but have decided that they cannot live within human society and leave with the surviving Amazons. Jin survives and is driven mad by his lonesome crusade against the survivors, but is possibly saved by the intervention of Nanaha.
Disappeared Dad: Shido is revealed to be one. He admits that he hasn't been in his children's lives and his relationship with them is based around money.
Facial Horror: At least the left side of Jin's face and neck have become hideously scarred. It's unclear if this is because of his Amazon cells degenerating him, accumulated scars from his cannibalistic "hunts", or if they're chemical burns from Operation Tlaloc.
Freak Out: An incredibly tragic one for Mamoru when he regains his senses after eating Misaki's arm.
Hidden Depths: It is revealed that Shido used to be a doctor and he has a sick kid.
Sanity Slippage: Jin eats an Amazon's heart, his personality deteriorating from calm and smug to practically being a wild animal, howling like a beast and going Laughing Mad during combat.
Slasher Smile: Haruka is practically grinning as he faces off a burned Jin.
