Recap / Kaeloo S 3 E 6 Lets Play Vampires

Go To

Stumpy becomes obsessed with vampires.

"Let's Play Vampires" contains the following tropes:

  • Arson, Murder, and Jaywalking: Kaeloo explains to Stumpy the various downsides of being a vampire, such as that he has to sleep in a coffin, he'll be destroyed if he goes out in the sun, and that he won't be able to post selfies online anymore since vampires can't be seen in photos.
  • Bait-and-Switch: Mr. Cat makes a slideshow about vampires to show to the rest of the characters. Kaeloo looks at the first slide and is absolutely horrified... not because it's a scary picture of a vampire, but because Mr. Cat accidentally put up a "private" photo of her that was supposed to be for his eyes onlynote .
  • Does This Remind You of Anything?: Mr. Cat makes a slideshow to show to the rest of the characters and accidentally puts a photo of Bad Kaeloo on the first slide. Horrified and embarrassed, Kaeloo tells him that the photo was supposed to be "private" between them and Mr. Cat apologizes, saying that the photo was "for later". The whole thing plays out as though she shared a nude photo with him and it accidentally got leaked.
  • Freudian Couch: Kaeloo has Stumpy lie on one of these during a therapy session.
  • How Did That Get in There?: Mr. Cat is giving a presentation on vampires with a slideshow to Kaeloo, Stumpy and Quack Quack when a picture of Bad Kaeloo shows up as one of the slides. Both Kaeloo and Mr. Cat are embarrassed by this, because apparently that picture was meant to be "private" between the two of them.
  • Instantly Proven Wrong: Mr. Cat explains to Kaeloo, Stumpy and Quack Quack using a slideshow that vampires don't exist. While he's still talking, Quack Quack gets bitten by a vampire bat and turns into a vampire.
  • Non Sequitur: Stumpy develops an obsession with vampires, and Kaeloo decides to give him psychotherapy to deal with it. Lying on the Freudian Couch, Stumpy explains how he's been having recurring nightmares about... being eaten by a "were-dumpster". Kaeloo even lampshades how that has nothing to do with vampires.
  • Oh, No... Not Again!: Kaeloo and Quack Quack drag Stumpy to a psychotherapist, and he starts screaming that he doesn't want to go the the psychotherapist's office "again".
  • Vampire Vannabe: The episode revolves around Stumpy wanting to become a vampire. When Quack Quack ends up becoming a vampire, he follows him around being his slave and begging him to bite him so he could also become a vampire.
