Recap / Justice League Action S 1 E 38 Forget Me Not

Go To

Firestorm blazes his way up to the Watchtower, apologizing for being a few minutes late to the meeting.

Firestorm: My head may or may not have caused a forest fire.

But his excuse falls on... Not deaf ears, but no ears at all. The Watchtower is completely empty! Professor Stein recognizes this is trouble, as there's always a Leaguer on monitor duty. Firestorm wonders where to begin looking for the missing heroes and Stein suggests the Daily Planet. When Firestorm asks why start there, Stein presumably reminds the Ronnie Raymond part of Firestorm that they already know Clark Kent is Superman.

Firestorm : My brain is literally on fire!

At the Daily Planet, Clark is working behind his desk and is quite startled when Firestorm knocks on his window. He politely, if awkwardly says hello to Firestorm, who invites himself in and asks why he rudely didn't show up to the meeting. When Clark finally understands that the young hero thinks he's Superman, Clark insists this is not the case and that he's only mild mannered reporter Clark Kent, and he has the mug to prove it. Firestorm turns a photo into a mirror and shows him his face with and without glasses. The S Curl makes its appearance as well and after a momentary gasp of surprise, Clark continues to insist that it's only a passing resemblance. Firestorm decides more drastic measures are required and takes Clark into the Metropolis sky so he can prove he's Superman.

Firestorm: I'm just gonna drop you. Enjoy your flight! ...
Prof. Stein: (as Clark plummets, screaming)... Are you sure this was a good idea?
Firestorm: C'mon, fly. Fly! Flap your arms! Fly!

It turns out to have been a good idea... Just not as intended. There is a resounding thud as Clark hits the ground and picks himself up without a scratch.

Clark: I'm alive!

Although no flying took place, Superman's invulnerability is still there even if his memory is not. This is enough to convince Clark. He lets Firestorm take off with him.

Soon Firestorm has also rounded up Bruce Wayne and Diana Prince. They, despite (or possibly because of) the excitable Firestorm's explanation don't believe and are ready to leave until Clark willingly takes a header off the Watchtower to prove he really is Superman even if none of them remember.

Firestorm attempts to jog their memories by shifting their street clothes into their costumes. Clark is slightly embarrassed that his super suit is so snug. Diana is annoyed to be shifted into more revealing clothing without her consent. Bruce sniffs that the cape is completely impractical.

An alert lights up. Golems are thieving from Metropolis. They are under the control of Felix Faust, who has delightedly begun riding a Segway. Firestorm arrives to fight him... And a moment later, a cab arrives with the three still amnesiac heroes. Firestorm gives a super quick refresher on what each hero does in a fight. His explanation mainly involves punching.

The fight goes poorly at first. Superman still hasn't figured out flying even if his invulnerability is still getting the job done. Batman has to run from the Golems, and Wonder Woman ends up tangled in her own lasso. When Firestorm destroys the golem Faust had relegated to sandwiches, Faust loses his temper and tries to figure out how Firestorm escaped having his memories stolen. After a minute Faust realizes he didn't account for Firestorm's unique two mind consciousness and accounts for it. It works properly this time, leaving a confused and frightened Firestorm and Stein having a co- Freak Out because not only do they not know who they are; they also don't know who the other one is; the former's head is on fire and the latter lacks a body.

Meanwhile, the trinity are getting the very basics of being themselves.

Superman : Hey! I can fly!
Wonder Woman: I can throw a car!
Batman: I... Am... Batman!

Faust is soon defeated, and the orb full of superhero memories confiscated. As they hold the orb, the trinity find amusement in watching Firestorm.

Firestorm: You don't have a reflection! Why don't you have a reflection?! Are you a vampire?
Prof. Stein: Am I a vampire?!

Wonder Woman ends their torment by tossing the orb over her shoulder so it shatters.
