Kyoto Sister School Goodwill Event
This arc follows the 30th Annual Kyoto Sister-School Goodwill Event, a fierce competition that pits the teams of Tokyo and Kyoto students against each other in a series of intense jujutsu battles.

Tropes associated with Kyoto Goodwill Event Arc:

  • Arc Villain: Initially, Gakuganji attempts to have the Kyoto students assassinate Yuji, but the Special-Grade Disaster Curse Hanami appears at the event and everyone is forced to band together to defeat them.
  • Awesomeness by Analysis: Todo's main forte.
  • The Bad Guy Wins: Hanami's whole attack on the Goodwill Event turned out to be a diversion to keep the sorcerers' attention away from Mahito, who infiltrated Jujutsu Tech to obtain their Sukuna fingers, as well as the Death Paintings, who become prominent in the following arc. The plan goes off without a hitch in the end.
  • Bash Brothers: Yuji and Todo quickly become this after Yuji tells his type to Todo.
  • Blood Knight: Juzo Kumiya, who has nothing in his mind except making a coat rack out of Gojo.
  • Confusion Fu: How Boogie Woogie works, by exchanging positions by clapping, although Todo notes there is quite more to the technique.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: Hanami 'vs.' Gojo. It ends up with Hanami having half his body disintegrated by Gojo, which makes it even more impressive as neither of them even saw each other.
  • Decoy Antagonist: Gakuganji is initially the source of conflict, ordering Yuji to be killed during the event, but the plan is derailed by the sudden appearance of Hanami, who's the much greater threat.
  • Didn't Think This Through: Yuji's ill-advised attempt to inform his friends that he was alive. Not helped by Gojo being The Gadfly.
  • Interservice Rivalry: The Tokyo and Kyoto Students have an extremely fierce rivalry.
  • Mass "Oh, Crap!": The Kyoto denizens after learning Yuji is still alive.
    • The entire Jujutsu building when Hanami shows up.
  • Nothing Personal: When accused by Yaga that Gakuganji is ordering the assassination against Itadori due to a personal grudge, Gakuganji corrects him that he doesn't hate Itadori, it's just Sukuna needs to be stopped.
  • We Need a Distraction: The entire stunt with Hanami and the Curse users was a smoke-screen for Mahito attacking the Cursed barriers, in order to steal the Death Paintings, leading into the next arc.
