Go To

With Drago obtaining all of the demon chi, he plans on turning the world inside out. The final battle is about to begin.

This episode provide examples of:

  • Abusive Parent: Shendu and Drago's history is never explored, but their interactions imply there is no love loss between father and son. Shendu previously stated he would be proud of his son for taking over the world. Still, once restored, he gladly becomes the biggest obstacle in Drago's path simply because he insists on ruling the world himself. Even when Shendu is willing to save Drago from falling into the Demon Realm, he still insists that his son will be his subordinate, not his equal.
Drago: You never let me have what I want!
  • All Your Base Are Belong to Us: After being granted the power of the Earth, Thunder, and Wind demons, the Ice Gang invades Section 13 and totally demolish it.
  • And This Is for...: Black's reason to attack with his Dragon talisman is to retaliate for his van being destroyed during the invasion.
Black: This is for toasting my van!
  • Attack of the 50-Foot Whatever: As part of his One-Winged Angel form, Drago grows to gigantic size as a result of the Mountain Demon chi. For some reason, however, he's only as big as Shendu.note
  • Behemoth Battle: A restored Shendu, who is much larger than usual, dukes it out with the giant dark-chi-empowered Drago.
  • Big Damn Heroes: El Toro and Viper show up to help Jackie save a bus full of people.
  • Bittersweet Ending: On one hand, Drago and Shendu are banished to the Netherworld for good. On the other hand Section 13 was destroyed and the talismans went with Shendu.
  • Brick Joke: When calling the Mayor to order an evacation, Captain Black lied about the reason by saying meteors were coming. Later, at the shop, the Enforcers say they want to help. Finn, Chow, and Hak Foo know what's really going on, but Ratso genuinely thought it was meteors.
  • Brought Down to Normal: Uncle and Tohru's reversal spell that banishes Drago to the Netherworld also drains the Ice Gang of all the powers Drago gave them, returning them to humans.
  • Buried Alive: Tohru fails to escape the collapse of Section 13 and is buried under the rubble. He nonetheless survives.
  • Call-Back: After seeing the rubble that used to be Section 13, Ratso comments "they had good doughnuts".
  • The Cameo: Valmont's second time.
  • Chronic Backstabbing Disorder: Showing that Drago is a chip off the old block when Shendu tries to save him from falling into the Demon Realm. Rather than letting his father pull him up, Drago pulls him down instead. This causes Shendu to grab onto Drago while falling, ensuring his son is dragged down with him.
  • Cool Shades: Jade gets to wear them.
  • Continuity Nod: The Ice Gang are the only ones in the main cast who've never met Shendu before, hence Ice's question "Yo, that thing is Drago's pop?".
  • Crush Blush: Jackie in response to Viper suggesting they team up more often.
  • Darkest Hour: Drago has absorbed all the demon chi powers, the souped-up Ice Gang demolish Section 13, with Tohru seemingly Buried Alive under a ton of rubble and Drago plans on bringing in hordes of his demon brethren, with the J-Team proving ineffective in turning the tide of the battle. The ironic twist that ultimately saves them and the world? A fully-revitalized Shendu.
  • Didn't See That Coming: Drago over being confronted by a restored Shendu.
  • Easily Forgiven: Zigzagged. Drago uses his newly gained Earth power to punish the Ice Gang for their Starscream attempt. Nevertheless, he still let them remain in his service.
  • Enemy Mine: Shendu, of all people, temporarily works with the heroes against Drago since he feels that Earth is his and his alone to rule.
  • "Eureka!" Moment: As the demons battle each other, Tohru gets the idea to banish Drago from the Earth rather than continue trying to remove the Demon Chi from him.
  • "Everybody Laughs" Ending: Except for Drago and Shendu, of course.
  • Evil Will Fail: As usual, Shendu insists that the world is his and his alone to rule, to the point where he willingly helps his sworn enemies against Drago, right as his son is on the verge of conquering the planet. Surprisingly, he is willing to save Drago from being trapped in the Demon Realm in exchange for his submission, but Drago tries to pull Shendu down with him, resulting in his father dragging him down as well. The result of the demons' backstabbing and selfish nature is that neither takes over the world and both are trapped forever.
  • Five-Second Foreshadowing: Uncle says they need reinforcements at Section 13. The Enforcers thought he meant Tohru and, when corrected, ask who he really means.
  • Flat Joy: Jackie is in joy for El Toro's arrival, but with Viper's, this is his reaction.
Jackie: [enthusiastically] Viper! [sarcastically] I mean, Viper...
  • Godzilla Threshold: How does Uncle plan on fighting a Demon-Chi infused Drago? Summon a full strength Shendu.
  • Gondor Calls for Aid: Practically every main character comes to Jackie's aid in the final battle with Drago: Viper, El Toro, Paco, the Enforcers, Mordecai, Eggbert, Super Moose, and even Shendu.
  • Grand Finale: The series finale of Jackie Chan Adventures.
  • Heel–Face Turn: The Enforcers (Hak Foo included this time around) ally with Uncle to help find a means to stop Drago. Hak also gets in on the demon butt-whoop near the end and is even entrusted by Jackie to hold Jade while he attempts to go after Shendu and Drago.
  • Hope Spot: Uncle had hoped that there was a spell to remove all of the Demon Chi from Drago, due to it working individually throughout the season. Shendu tells him There Is No Cure when all eight are inside a single host.
  • How the Mighty Have Fallen: Valmont's last appearance in the series is showing he's now working as a bus driver.
  • I Surrender, Suckers: After Uncle and Tohru open up a portal to limbo and Drago is being sucked in he pulls this on his Father Shendu. Shendu tells him he deserves his fate but Drago continues to beg for help. Shendu in a moment of pity for his son pulls him out but not before telling Drago to remember his place. Drago promises to do so only to then pull Shendu into the portal who then in retaliation grabs onto Drago's tail and they both fall into The Demon Netherworld together.
  • The Magic Goes Away: All the talismans are now trapped in the Demon Realm with Shendu.
  • Manly Tears: Uncle when it looks like Tohru has died.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: Jade bringing the Demon Chi to the site of the swap gets thrown back in her face.
Captain Black: I think you've done enough for one day.
  • Nice Job Fixing It, Villain: Shendu attempts to save Drago from falling into the Demon Realm, but Drago proves as treacherous as his father and pulls him down. While falling, Shendu grabs onto Drago and ensures both of them fall. Since the only thing that could stop the two demons is each other, Drago ensured neither would pose a threat again.
  • No Good Deed Goes Unpunished: In his one moment of decency in the series, Shendu attempts to save Drago from falling into the Demon Realm when his son begs for mercy. This backfires, as Drago pulls Shendu down with him.
  • No One Could Survive That!: Tohru gets buried in the collapse of Section 13. When dug out by Uncle and the Enforcers, he has no lasting injuries.
  • Oh, Crap!:
    • Played for laughs when Uncle sees the last people he ever expected to see on his doorstep: the Enforcers.
    • Also played for laughs when Jackie sees the bus driver is Valmont.
  • One-Winged Angel: Drago's final transformation consists of features from all of his uncles and aunts.
  • Pet the Dog: In a surprising moment, Shendu is willing to save Drago from falling into the Demon Realm, albeit only with the promise of his son remembering Earth is Shendu's to rule. This bites him in the ass as Drago pulls him down with him.
  • Red Sky, Take Warning: Using his new powers, Drago turns the entire sky red. It remains that way until he is banished to the Netherworld.
  • Rewarded as a Traitor Deserves: After Uncle opens up a portal to The Demon Netherworld and Drago is being sucked into it Shendu tells him he deserves his fate because Drago abandoned Shendu to go his own way.
  • Screw the Rules, I Make Them!: Black has sent an all-out military force after Drago, much to Uncle's chagrin.
Uncle: All these years, Black has learned nothing. Magic Must Defeat Magic.
  • Sealed Evil in a Duel: Drago and Shendu's final fate.
Drago: The earth was within my grasp! You never let me have what I want!
Shendu: I've told you not to play with father's world!
Drago: Why not?! You weren't doing anything with it! You were always busy fighting wizards!
  • Shadow Discretion Shot: As Drago's final transformation begins, the audience is treated to the sight of his shadow sprouting tentacles from his chin. Strikemaster Ice, who was watching it firsthand, was grossed out.
  • So Proud of You: Despite acknowledging Drago betrayed him, Shendu admits to Uncle he would still be full of pride to see his son enslave the Earth.
  • Stay in the Kitchen: After her failed plan in the last episode that resulted in the crisis, Jade ends up suffering this treatment. Even her persuasion of Tohru fails and only gets out of this when Section 13 is destroyed.
  • Summon Bigger Fish: Drago has become too powerful, so the only way to stop him is to restore Shendu. Uncle knows that Shendu cannot be trusted, but has no other options. Fortunately, Drago and Shendu both pull each other into the Demon Realm, where they can no longer threaten humanity.
  • Sunk Cost Fallacy: Despite attempting to betray him, Ice and his gang realize that with Drago about to carry out his plans, their best bet is to stick with him "like wax on a board".
  • Super-Empowering: Drago empowers the Ice Gang further with Earth, Thunder, and Wind chi, in order to carry out their mission of destroying Section 13.
  • Take a Third Option: When Uncle is unable to find a way to remove the demon chi from Drago, Tohru instead suggests that they remove Drago from the earth, using a powerful reversal spell to cause his own opening to the Netherworld to suck him in.
  • There Is No Cure: Following Drago's empowerment with all eight Demon Chi, Uncle approaches Shendu to ask if he knows of a way to depower him. Shendu however reveals that whilst the Demon Chi can be removed when they possess hosts individually, once all eight of them are united inside a single host, "nothing can remove them — ever." Sure enough, even with the Enforcers' help, he can't devise a chi spell capable of doing so. As such, Uncle and Tohru cast a powerful reversal spell to send Drago to the Netherworld.
  • This Is Gonna Suck: Upon seeing Drago in his final form, Jackie appropriately says "Bad day".
  • Transformation Discretion Shot: Drago's final transformation begins with him sprouting a pair of wings, with his shadow's chin then shown sprouting tentacles before it cuts away to Uncle getting aid from the Enforcers. When it cuts back to Section 13 storming the junkyard, Drago is shown emerging from the clouds, now looking like a conglomeration of his aunts and uncles.
  • Trash the Set: The Ice Gang breaks into Section 13 and levels it.
  • The Unreveal: At the beginning of the episode, when Drago is dropping the Golden Gate Bridge on the heroes, the Chan Clan are the only ones seen escaping safely, but not Captain Black, who was also there. Despite this, Black is seen back at Section 13 okay, with it being unknown how he got away.
  • Villain Has a Point: While Uncle knows that releasing Shendu guarantees nothing for his or anyone's safety, Shendu counters with the point that once the eight demon chi have been brought together, nothing can separate them from their host. Despite aid from the Enforcers and his best magical concoctions, Uncle cannot devise a strong enough spell to remove the chi and is forced to release Shendu as his last resort.
  • Wham Line:
    • Drago delivers one that shows that this is the final episode:
Drago: [to the Ice Gang] I want you to eliminate Section 13 and everyone in it, once and for all.
    • As demons are unleashed at the stadium, we learn who exactly Uncle meant when talking about reinforcements.
Drago: The future belongs to me!
Shendu: [off-screen] I think not, boy!
  • You Have GOT to Be Kidding Me!: Said by Captain Black when he sees Drago's One-Winged Angel form.
