Hsi Wu the Sky demon is released, but loses his tail to the Chans, he tries to retrieve it by enrolling in Jade's school as a new student.
- An Arm and a Leg: Jade closing the bathroom door on his tail cuts it off, making it a major plot point for the episode.
- A Wolf in Sheep's Clothing: Hsi Wu as "Seymour Jawoositz" is a perfect kid, yet Uncle still finds him suspicious.
- Be Careful What You Wish For: When in possession of Hsi Wu's tail, Uncle casts a partial spell on it so that when reattached, the spell would spread to the rest of his body sending him back to the netherworld. Jade takes it away and Hsi Wu demands his tail and Jade complies, only for Hsi Wu to remember that Uncle hadn't removed the spell from his tail yet.
- Big Eater: Jade treats herself to a hot dog every time the home team scores a home run and follows up with a soda; she's had five sodas. Tohru comments he doesn't know where she puts it all.
- Bond One-Liner: "Tails you lose."
- Contrived Coincidence: Jade is going to the bathroom just as the Dark Hand is about to open Hsi Wu's portal in it.
- "Eureka!" Moment: After spending the entire episode trying to find someone who listens to her opinion, Jade realizes that Tohru is doing just that.
- Even Evil Has Standards: Ratso tells Shendu they can't enter the women's room. Shendu points out they're not going in, rather Hsi Wu is coming out.
- Friendship Moment: Jade giving Tohru half of the amulet.
- Hope Spot: For once, the group is fully prepared to deal with a demon before the portal even opens and knows exactly where to go, so they expect to have this wrapped up in no time. Things go sideways pretty quickly.
- Laser-Guided Karma: Hsi Wu gets banished by Jade for tricking her.
- Must Be Invited: Uncle casts a spell on the shop to make sure Hsu Wu can't set foot without an invitation.
- Potty Emergency: Jade suffers one due to too many hot dogs and having a soda with each one...just as the Dark Hand is about to open Hsi Wu's portal in the woman's bathroom.
- Properly Paranoid: Uncle is correct-fully suspicious when Hsi Wu disguises himself as "Seymour" and befriends Jade.
- Slasher Smile: As the box is opened, "Seymour" when approaching an unaware Jade from behind.
- Too Good to Be True: The reason Uncle distrusts "Seymour" is because the supposed kid is too polite towards him.
- Woman Scorned: Jade is furious that Hsi Wu tricked her, so she gets the chance to banish him herself, with Uncle's help.
- Voluntary Shapeshifting: Like Xiao Fung earlier, Hsi Wu disguises himself as a human.
- Your Mom: Drew mocks Jade asking if she's going to the dance with a ninja and strikes poses amusing the other kids. A disguised Hsi Wu asks if Drew is going to the dance with his mother. Drew feebly denies it resulting in the other kids laughing at him now.
