J-WITCH's school field trip to Salem is interrupted by the awakening of the Sky Demon Chi, while Drago summons the spirits of the Witch Trials' victims to aid him.
- All Just a Dream: At the end the girls manage to convince Collins that the whole experience with the Sky Demon Chi was just a dream that he had.
- Artistic License – History: It's repeatedly stated that accused witches were burned at the stake at Salem. In actuality, they were hanged or drowned; it was only in Europe that burnings were carried out as a means of execution.
- Brought Down to Badass: Even after Miranda steals the Heart, keeping the girls from taking their Guardian forms, they show once again that Jackie's training has paid off, enabling them to fight the Knights fairly well even when not at full power.

- Professor Collins gets the Sky Demon Chi instead of Miss Hartman.
- Due to Heatherfield being on the East Coast, the field trip is to Salem instead of a random haunted house outside San Fransisco.
- Canonically, Jade brings the Chi-o-Matic along on the field trip out of boredom. Since she's more mature in this fic, she doesn't do this, with Jackie, Uncle, and Tohru having to bring the device with them when they realize the chi has awakened.
- Heart Is an Awesome Power: When the others are surprised that Hsi Wu's only special power was being able to fly, Jade points out that he was able to do so at supersonic speeds, making it still too dangerous an ability to risk Drago or the Knights getting ahold of.
- History Repeats: When Caleb asks why there's a museum dedicated to the Salem Witch Trials if they were so bad, Taranee tells him the saying that those who forget their history are doomed to repeat it. Caleb's never heard the phrase before, for obvious reasons, but can see the wisdom in it.
- Hoist by His Own Petard: Drago summons the ghosts of the Witch Trials' victims to aid the Knights in fighting the Guardians, but after Elyon gets through to them, they turn on the Knights and blast them clear out of sight.
