While visiting the bookstore that unknown to them is being used by Cedric as cover, Jade and the Guardians (except for an absent Will) are accidentally transported to Meridian, in the middle of Phobos' castle.
- Baddie Flattery: When Cornelia creates a tree to subdue Ratso, he compliments her by saying that she'd make a good florist. She thanks him before punching him.
- Bare-Handed Blade Block: Uncle does this while dueling Phobos.
- Curb-Stomp Battle: Phobos is unable to land a single hit on Uncle, who in turn gives the prince a humiliating defeat.
- Description Cut: Tohru worries how Caleb will manage with Uncle at the latter's shop while he himself is helping out at the Silver Dragon. Yan Lin winces yet assures him that those two will get along just fine. We then cut to Uncle's Rare Finds, where Uncle is berating Caleb, whose effort to create a light-themed weapon to fight the Shadowkhan resulted in a smoking cauldron.
- Even Evil Has Standards: The Enforcers are appalled when the girls tell them that Phobos (allegedly) killed his own parents. They then try to talk the Tracker out of killing the girls by pointing out that Phobos didn't specifically order them to be killed and that they're not a threat without their powers.
- Unskilled, but Strong: Uncle's opinion of Phobos; he has genuine power, but not much finesse with it.
