The final Oni Mask is recovered, only to be stolen along with the Heart by the passling Jeek. The Guardians and Chans must now race to retrieve them before he can deliver them to Phobos.
- Adaptational Badass: It turns out that Blunk learned kung-fu from watching his friends practice it, and puts it to use fighting Jeek.
- Batman Gambit: Shendu deliberately lets slip to the Enforcers that Wong is planning to use Elyon's power to resurrect him, counting on them telling Jackie and thus guaranteeing that Jackie will be there when it happens, therefore ensuring Shendu will immediately have a chance for revenge.
- The Dreaded: When they learn that Wong is planning to resurrect Shendu, the Chans are utterly terrified, while the Guardians are scared just from the stories they've heard.
- For Want Of A Nail:
- Because Jade gets a good look at Jeek while he's stealing the Heart, she knows Blunk's not the culprit. While this isn't enough to convince the others until they actually see Blunk and Jeek at the same time, it does cause enough doubt that they don't completely assume that Blunk is responsible.
- Whereas in canon the ninth mask was never worn prior to them all being shattered, here it's worn by Cedric, allowing the Mantis Khan to show up before all nine tribes are unleashed.
- Leave Him to Me!: After gaining the Mantis Khan mask, Cedric orders his new minions to stay away from Tohru so that he can personally settle their rivalry.
- Leave the Two Lovebirds Alone: Jade shoos the others away so Will and Matt can talk, even dragging Uncle away by the ear to do so.
- Wham Episode: Matt learns about the Guardians, Blunk shows off kung-fu skills he's learned from watching the others train, and the Enforcers and the heroes learn about Wong and Shendu's alliance.
- Xanatos Gambit: When they learn that Jeek has stolen the Heart and final mask, Phobos and Tarakudo note that they win either way. If Cedric and Wong (with Tarakudo along to sell the illusion that it's their last chance to get a mask) win, they can easily storm Section 13 and reclaim the other masks. In the more likely scenario that the heroes reclaim the Heart and mask, they'll bring it to Section 13 and release the Oni.
