- Hypocrisy Nod: Delia Ketchum admitted to Talia Cerise that she is afraid Ash and Chloe will forgive her for her role in Goh's departure, despite refusing to give Chloe any kind of forgiveness. She acknowledged the hypocrisy in her being forgiven. At the same time, she refuses to do the same. Delia even refuses to use the parent's card to justify her hypocrisy by pointing out she did that before, and she afraid that her son Ash will start second-guessing everything she says and does.
- Internal Reveal: Professor Sycamore, Leon and Reggie learned what happened in the Fog Car.
- It's a Long Story: Chloe's answer when Leon questions how his little brother destroyed a Lysandre nightmare with tentacles.
- O.O.C. Is Serious Business: The fact that Paul apologizes is one for Reggie. Paul never, if ever, apologizes.
- Parental Hypocrisy: Discussed and Deconstructed. Talia suggests that Delia could cite this as her reason for continuing to hold grudges; however, Delia points out that she's already done this before, and all but admitted to her son that she was only pretending to support his relationship with Trip. If she continues to be hypocritical, she'll leave her son second-guessing everything she says and does.
- You Are Better Than You Think You Are: Reggie has to reassure Paul that the torture he went through was undeserved and that he's not the monster that Walter placed into his head.
- Your Costume Needs Work: Discussed. Sashay brings up that in order for the Quarto blend in with all the denizens who'll be dressed as them in the Canals of Fondue Car they should invoke this by having some "flaws" in their costumes so no one will know the real Quarto is Hidden in Plain Sight.
