"Everything's A-OJ" is the seventh episode of Inanimate Insanity II and the 25th episode overall. It aired on September 20, 2014.

After MePhone4 gets thrown into jail, OJ takes over duties as the host and orders the contestants to clean up Hotel OJ.

The episode contains the following tropes:

  • Asshole Victim: MePhone4 definitely should've seen his Humiliation Conga coming after isolating eliminated contestants in OJ's closet without their or his consent for months.
  • Big "WHAT?!": The other Bright Lights all react with this when Paintbrush lies to OJ that the Grand Slams lost the last challenge and is up for elimination.
  • The Bus Came Back: All the non-competing Season 1 contestants and the eliminated Season 2 contestants finally appear on-screen after being last seen in "Breaking the Ice" and their respective eliminations.
  • Butt-Monkey: MePhone4, who gets several karmas after getting off scot-free. He deserved it, after all.
  • Call-Back: While sorting through a box filled with his junk, Pickle finds a framed photo of him and Taco having a picnic in "The Great Escape", reminding him of her betrayal. He puts it back up in the hotel and Knife sees it, continuing his development into a Jerk with a Heart of Gold by giving Pickle some life advice in the guise of talking about video games.
  • Cathartic Exhalation: Paintbrush says an audible "phew" after Test Tube pulls a Desperate Object Catch on Fan's alien egg, which Paintbrush accidentally dropped when attempting to return it to Fan.
  • Continuity Nod: During MePhone4's trial, Paper notes that he has first-hand experience with MePhone4's tendency to imprison losing contestants, a reference to his extended stay on Idiotic Island and resulting mental issues in Season 1.
  • Courtroom Antics: MePhone4's trial barely has time to begin before Toilet misunderstands Paper accusing MePhone4 of unlawful detention and jumps up on OJ and Paper's desk, yelling that MePhone4 was never a teacher.
  • Cucumber Facial: The episode opens with Salt and Pepper relaxing in a hot tub, each sporting one of these. Because of the cucumber slices obscuring her vision, Pepper unknowingly opens a door labeled "DO NOT ENTER OR YOU WILL DIE.", revealing that the eliminated contestants are stuck behind it.
  • Desperate Object Catch: When Paintbrush loses their temper at Fan for not helping with the challenge, they angrily threaten to smash Fan's beloved alien egg on the floor. After realising just in time that they're about to do something they'll regret, they move to give the egg back to Fan, only to trip. A horrified Fan watches as the egg falls to the ground in slow motion, only for Test Tube to slide in under it and catch it just in time.
  • Electronic Speech Impediment: Downplayed. After Tissues sneezes on MePhone4, causing him to short out before turning himself off and on again, MePhone4 angrily asks Tissues if he's trying to make him sick with a slight electronic stutter to his voice before it returns to normal.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: MePhone4's inmates in his jail cell are extremely taken aback by him casually locking eliminated contestants in a small closet for several months and having no remorse for it. Rusty Jo even gives him a strong lecture and pep talk about how if he doesn't change his ways, jail walls will be it for him. It is even more impactful as Rusty Jo says that it is too late for himself to change as he, himself, is stuck in jail presumably indefinitely.
  • Facepalm: Microphone slaps her forehead in frustration before complaining about how she always loses despite how hard she tries in The Stinger.
  • Finishing Each Other's Sentences: Paintbrush does this to Test Tube to prevent her from revealing that they're lying about the Bright Lights winning the last challenge.
Test Tube: But, th-the fact is, we lost—
Paintbrush: Lost our spirits seeing the Grand Slams tragically fail again.
  • Freeze-Frame Bonus: When Fan shows Paintbrush the paper with his theory that the teams take turns winning two times in a row, which is only close enough to the camera to be read for a few seconds, that paper also has various notes scrawled on it, such as him wondering if mayonnaise can be used as toothpaste and deciding to try it.
  • Heads or Tails?: When the Grand Slams are upset to learn that cleaning Hotel OJ wasn't a challenge like the teams assumed it was, OJ scrambles for some sort of challenge to decide which team is up for elimination and goes with a coin toss.
  • Humiliation Conga: MePhone4 gets sued, tried in court, arrested, and brutally sneezed on by Tissues.
  • Inadvertent Entrance Cue: When OJ finds out that the eliminated contestants were all trapped in a closet in his hotel by the Elimination Portal, he starts to ask what kind of monster would do such a thing. Before he can even finish his sentence, MePhone4 bursts in to yell at him for opening the door.
  • It's the Best Whatever, Ever!: When Pepper comes up with the idea that the contestants should do a musical number while cleaning Hotel OJ, she tells Salt that she just had "the best idea ever."
  • Jerkass Ball: OJ unfairly eliminates Suitcase for "ruining the show". Baseball even lampshades this, saying that what OJ did is completely unacceptable and that he's usually a pretty nice guy, meaning that everyone was really taken aback by how mean OJ was.
  • Karma Houdini: While other characters bring up OJ's Jerkass Ball, he never really gets comeuppance nor apologizes for it.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: Mephone4 gets this after OJ sues him. He gets several things coming to him, and it is quite satisfying. What makes it quite interesting is that Tissues is the one who sneezes on MePhone4 and makes him sick for the next episode, as Tissues was the one who was horribly treated by MePhone4 and eliminated first, making him the one trapped in the closet the longest. So, it is quite fitting for Tissues to be the one to make MePhone4 suffer during the next episode. See Humiliation Conga above.
  • Leet Lingo: Fan's theory about the episodes' victory pattern has "It haz 2 B!!" scribbled next to the diagram determining that his team will win this episode's challenge.
  • Musical Chores: Invoked when Pepper suggests that the contestants should sing while cleaning up Hotel OJ. The result is "Keep On Cleaning", in which the characters sing about whatever happens to be on their mind (such as Paintbrush complaining about their teammates not taking the competition seriously or OJ boasting that he's a better host than MePhone4), with the largest part being Soap singing about how she loves cleaning and how it helps her feel better emotionally.
  • Pass the Popcorn: After Fan comes to the conclusion that there is a pattern to the teams' victories and that his team are destined to win this episode's challenge, he decides to just sit back and watch, taking out some popcorn that he offers to share with Paintbrush. Paintbrush is not amused and slaps it out of Fan's hand.
  • Punctuated! For! Emphasis!:
    • When MePhone4 mockingly asks what OJ's going to do about him locking the eliminated contestants in a closet in Hotel OJ, there's a beat, and then:
      OJ: I'm. Gonna. Sue you.
    • There's also Judge Gavel's verdict at the resulting trial:
Judge Gavel: MePhone4, for the crime of unlawful detention, imprisonment, and a freaky portal that the defense claims just randomly opened one day, you are sentenced to. One. Hour in jail.
  • Shout-Out: As a Freeze-Frame Bonus, the numbers "11037" show up twice in inconspicuous places throughout the episode. Said numbers are crucial to an early trial in Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc.
  • Small Role, Big Impact: Tissues has a minor role in this episode — and the series — but him sneezing on MePhone4 sets up the events of the next episode and the rest of the series.
  • The Stinger: The episode has two of them in a row, one comedic and one dramatic:
    • The comedic one has the eliminated contestants being welcomed to Hotel OJ, only to get quickly weirded out by the bizarre behaviour of the characters already staying there.
    • The dramatic one has Microphone expressing frustration over how badly she's doing in the game despite her best efforts, ending with the reveal that someone is watching her from the bushes.
  • Three... Two... One...: After the already annoyed Paintbrush gets knocked down their ladder, which then proceeds to fall on their face, Fan boredly counts down from three while offering his egg some popcorn. When he reaches three, Paintbrush has the first of many fiery temper tantrums.
  • Tradesnark™: The paper Fan shows Paintbrush outlining his theory that there is a pattern to the order the teams win challenges has "Fan Theory #749®" written on top.
  • Twitchy Eye: After Cheesy once again annoys Microphone with one of his puns about her loudness in The Stinger, ruining her attempt at sneaking up on someone hidden in a bush in the process, her eye twitches as she angrily watches him walk away.
  • Universal Group Reaction:
    • The rest of the Bright Lights (with the exception of Apple, who's busy sucking her thumb) all give a simultaneous Big "WHAT?!" when Paintbrush falsely claims that their team won last episode's challenge.
    • When Pepper tells Salt, Paper, and Bomb that Balloon is coming, the other three simultaneously gasp in horror.
    • When OJ on Pepper's suggestion orders the contestants to sing while cleaning up Hotel OJ, they all groan angrily, except for Soap, who happily says that it's the best day of her life.
  • Wham Episode: We learn in this episode that the eliminated contestants from episode 2 to 6 were placed and locked in a closet at Hotel OJ for several months, and MePhone4 finally gets a dose of karma when OJ gets him sued and arrested and also gets him to send the eliminated contestants to his hotel where they will be well taken care of. Tissues also sneeze on MePhone4, setting up the plot for the next episode... and for the rest of the season.
  • What Are You in For?: MePhone4's cellmate Rusty Jo asks him this after he's locked in a jail cell after being sentenced to jail for one day. When MePhone4 nonchalantly tells him that he locked some people in a room for several months, he and their other grizzled cellmates are horrified.
  • Wingding Eyes: In a blink-and-you-miss-it moment, Soap's eyes briefly go heart shaped when she sees what a messy state Hotel OJ is in and says she thinks she's in love after being told she's going to help clean it up.
