Professor McGonagall meets the Equestrians for the first time, and invites them all on a shopping spree.
Tropes that gave Pinkie Pie a reason to throw a party are as follows:

- Pretty much everything Pinkie Pie does the second they get to the Leaky Cauldron.
- McGonnagal's reaction to seeing that the Equestrians are capable of wandless magic (even the children!) and have raised an intelligent dragon.
- Cloudcuckoolander: Pinkie Pie goes all out in the Leaky Cauldron, confusing/startling wizards and Muggles alike. The Equestrians all treat this like Tuesday.
- Exact Words: When the Professor asks why Harry isn't with the Dursleys, Twilight tells her that Harry's relatives are on an extended trip to one of the "Queen's Resorts". To McGonnagal, it merely sounds like they're on vacation. Anyone who lives in the UK, however, knows what a Queen's Resort really is...

Squick: The Equestrians when they learn that wands use magical cores made of parts of magical animals (in particular dragon heartstrings). Thus, the CMC ask their family members for hairs to use in their wands instead. Harry even receives hairs from the Princesses to use as his wand core.
